Today we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a very special milestone for our lovely Kit, who turns 100 today! 🎉💐🎈

We surprised her with flowers in her favourite colour, a birthday balloon, and a card to mark this incredible occasion.

Kit was delighted to celebrate with us and kindly gave permission for us to share these special photos.

From all of us at Golden Services Care Ltd, we would like to wish Kit a very happy 100th birthday. What an amazing milestone for an amazing person! 💛

Extra Garden Waste Collections This April!

Great news for local residents - if you have a garden waste permit, you can put out extra garden waste for free this spring!

Available between 20 April – 1 May 2026

On your normal collection day only
What you can do:

✔️ Put out up to 4 extra sacks per permit
✔️ Place them next to your brown bin
✔️ Use standard 60L sacks or small containers

Please remember:
Garden waste only (grass, plants, small branches)
No oversized bags (e.g. builder’s bags won’t be collected)
Leave sacks/containers open so crews can check contents

All collected waste is turned into compost locally and reused by farmers

👉 This service is for households with a valid 2026/27 garden waste permit

🎺Whilst the WSB senior and youth bands are busy preparing for their contests, Beginner Band and Training Band have been hard at work rehearsing for their Spring Concert. Come along on Sunday 29th March to hear some amazing music!

🎵The bands will be playing a great selection of pieces including Death or Glory, Daydream Believer and Minnie the Moocher, and then combining forces to play Livin' on a Prayer. We will also be featuring some brave soloists from both bands.

🎟Tickets are priced just £5 (adults) and £2 (children) from www.wantageband.org/events

🍰Tea, coffee and cakes will be served.

Would you know what to do in a cardiac emergency?

AEDs are designed to be easy to use, but learning the basics can make a huge difference in an emergency.

Join for a free community training session and learn skills that could help save a life.

The session is delivered by the Community Heartbeat Trust in partnership with the ambulance service as part of their Community Awareness Response Session (CARS) programme.

The training session is free to attend and open to anyone aged 18+
