Today on Holocaust Memorial Day, communities across the UK will come together to remember the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust, the millions more who were persecuted and murdered under N**i regime and its collaborators.🕯️

Holocaust Memorial Day is not only a moment to remember - it is a moment to act. Whether by lighting a candle, learning through education, attending a ceremony or taking time to reflect, there are many meaningful ways to take part.

This years theme is "Bridging Generations" to remind us of the importance of listening to survivors and sharing those stories with future generations.

Falls are one of the leading causes of injury among older adults, but many can be prevented through simple steps like strength and balance exercises, home checks and keeping up to date with health checks.

There are some fantastic resources available from for keeping active and mobile.

Oh - by the way - looking for a good idea for a Christmas present for an older loved one? A nice water bottle will help them stay hydrated and prevent dizziness and low blood pressure. Merry Christmas to you too. 🎁

Golden Services Care

Golden Services was started in 2012 by Pat Morgan. Pat has worked in the care sector since leaving school; progressing from support worker all the way up to registered manager for a number of other domiciliary companies over the years. Eventually she took the plunge into starting up her own home care company that has since developed and grown to cover the Wantage, Grove and Didcot areas. Since it's conception Golden Services has worked hard to build a reputation for providing outstanding care.

With the hard work and dedication of our support workers we are able to support members of our local community to remain living safely in their own homes and to maintain the dignity and respect they deserve.

Our commitment to care is reflected in our Care Quality Commission reports in which we have achieved an Outstanding in care on three separate occasions. This is an amazing achievement and a direct testament to the diligence and compassion of our staff.

As a company we are constantly working to improve our standards and support our staff to reach their full potential. We have a gold accreditation from Investor in People which recognises our leadership, support of staff and plans for improvements.
