Learn the ancient art of basketry in this hands-on workshop led by local basket maker Woven Woodland. This workshop is ideal for both beginners and more advanced learners as we will cover the fundamental principles of weaving and Polish square bases to create a beautiful and functional oval bag from locally sourced willow.
Join us in the serene retreat space at the Happy River, nestled in the forest. Enjoy plenty of tea and snacks while we connect with nature and immerse ourselves in this magical craft.

day 18: mushrooms 🍄

The 7yo and I went to a fab workshop with Willerby Manor Mushrooms at Happy River Retreat. We got to create a mushroom growing kit to bring home, I tried mushroom coffee, and she created with clay (they were making clay mushrooms but obviously she went her own way with it). What a fabulous place and lovely people. Love the fox-and-cubs flowers growing in the woodland too.
