Rachel Boyden Reflexology

Rachel Boyden Reflexology Welcome to my page! I am a fully qualified Reflexologist, based in Warfield. I am an IVF Mumma to my son, Edward, who was born in June 2021.

Reflexology involves the technique of massage and applying gentle pressure on the feet to encourage a deep state of relaxation and to stimulate healing processes. I decided to train in reflexology seven years ago, after having reflexology myself to help ease my stress and anxiety as a primary school teacher, and improve my sleep. I couldnโ€™t believe how much reflexology helped me and I wanted to share this wonderful therapy with others and help them too. I have always been interested in complementary therapies, but for me, reflexology is the most fascinating and most relaxing! After 10 months of training, I gained a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology and Anatomy and Physiology. This course allowed me full membership of the Association of Reflexologists, which means I am bound to their code of practice and committed to continued training. Since qualifying, I continued to have reflexology treatments to support me on my fertility journey and during pregnancy. I still love to have treatments when I can, as I find reflexology helps me to stay calm and improves my sense of wellbeing. It took many years and four (full) rounds of IVF to have Edward. It was the hardest and most isolating thing I have ever gone through. So, Edward really is my rainbow! Therefore, I know how tough it is when life doesnโ€™t go to plan and you canโ€™t, for whatever reason, get pregnant! I am extremely passionate about supporting other women on their fertility journeys, using my personal experiences. In 2019, I decided to train in Fertility Reflexology and Maternity Reflexology to help support my clients further. In 2023 I qualified in Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD). This is an award-winning technique, which focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes on the feet โ€“ encouraging the lymph to move in the body. This specialist technique was designed to benefit sufferers of lymphoedema, after breast cancer treatment. I use it at the beginning of all my reflexology treatments, as I feel everyone can benefit from RLD. Other things about me: I enjoy practising mindfulness, gardening, cooking and walking my dog, George. Thank you for visiting my page and I look forward to welcoming you for a reflexology treatment sometime or sharing something that inspires you! Love Rachel x

And just like that, I have to take my little boy to school. Before I was a reflexologist, I was a teacher, so this feels very surreal and has probably made this next step feel even harder!

The four years have been the most challenging, but have gone by quicker than I ever thought possible. Spending time with this little man is also my favourite thing to do.

So just like the trees, I have to let go and he has to grow.

I'm looking forward to having time now to focus on my business again ๐Ÿ˜Œ and equally looking forward to seeing what Ed goes on to achieve. ๐Ÿ’™

Hello everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹
A little update from me...
We finally moved to a village called Cuckfield in West Sussex on 4th August. It was drawn out and stressful, but we're here now and very much enjoying being surrounded by beautiful countryside! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒณ
My business is still on hold whilst I settle in and help my little boy to settle into school. However, plans are in place to build a summer house in the area behind me, which will become my treatment room...
But, I'm planning on finding ways to give reflexology treatments as soon as I can. I miss it! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ‘ฃ
I hope this post finds you all well. ๐Ÿ™

Happy Friday! ๐Ÿ™‚ In amongst the moving mayhem, I've enjoyed spending time in nature with my boys today.

'Granted, an hour of sensory tuning-in by the stream, under the shade tree, on the nature trail, won't fix all the broken stuff in our lives, but it will pull us out of our writhing minds and into our grounded, flowing senses.'

๐ŸŒฑPastures New ๐ŸŒฑ

As my clients are aware, this week is my last working week before I stop giving reflexology treatments in my home in Warfield. This is so I have time to prepare for my move to Sussex.

This has been a really tough decision to make, but one I know will be very positive for me and my family (once the stressful moving part is over!).

Iโ€™ve been blown away by the kind messages, cards and gifts Iโ€™ve received from my clients. Iโ€™ve been so lucky to give treatments to such a lovely group of people and will miss them so much! But Iโ€™m excited to set my business up again in Sussex, once weโ€™re all settled in.

Happy Father's Day. ๐Ÿ’™ Sending love to those who find today tough. ๐Ÿ’•

I know how busy life gets: juggling work, friends, family, errandsโ€ฆ and trying to take care of yourself.

But if you think you donโ€™t have time for a break, think again. Breaks help keep stress and anxiety in check, so the busier life is, the more necessary breaks become. And they donโ€™t have to be a huge commitment.

Today, try taking a micro-break (a few seconds or minutes) by intentionally:

๐Ÿ’™ Taking three deep breaths
๐Ÿ’™ Standing up and doing a stretch
๐Ÿ’™ Staring out a window with a soft gaze.๐Ÿ™

I went on a Sensory Processing workshop for my son recently and they recommended this mindfulness technique to help calm children down, but also for help with body awareness.
I use this technique myself often and have suggested it to my clients before, but never thought about doing it with my son! But itโ€™s so relaxing and grounding to do it with him. I would highly recommend doing it with someone, as saying things out loud helps to keep you focused too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Always lovely to have feedback from a client:
'Dear Rachel just want to say a big thank you for my reflexology today. It was amazing and I really feel rejuvenated with a spring in my step'. โค๏ธ
