Named after the town of Pu-erh in Yunnan province, Pu-erh tea is uniquely processed via post-fermention, meaning that the tea leaves go through a microbial fermentation process after they have been dried and rolled, causing the leaves to darken and change in flavour.

Although human research is limited, Pu-erh has been used for thousands of years in China to lose weight by helping to increase the speed of digestion. Add this tea to your diet to aid digestion and support your weight loss journey.

Located in the centre of the abdomen, and referred to as the Hara in Japanese – this is the physical and spiritual centre of the body, located in the lower abdomen. This energy centre is called Dantian or the Sea of Qi, in Traditional Chinese Medicine. 🌊

Cultivating the Hara is important to maintain good health, and as such is a central point for practices such as qi gong, tai chi, and breathing exercises.

Practice supportive Dantian breathing by following these steps:

1. Sit upright and comfortably in a chair or on the floor.
2. Gently close your eyes.
3. Bring your attention to your breath - notice the natural ebb and flow as you inhale and exhale.
4. Imagine a ball of warm energy in your lower Dantian – around 2-3 inches below your naval.
5. As you inhale imagine the ball of light expanding and with each exhale imagine the ball of light contracting.
6. After a 3-4 cycles place your palms on your lower Dantian and breathe naturally. Take note of any sensations that come up and you should start to feel more connected to this vital energy centre.
