ANXIETY -
When I tell people I suffered with it for years, they shake their heads in disbelief. “No way - not you”…
Yes! - me!

Sweaty hands
Heaviness in my chest
Churning, broiling washing machine in my tummy
Slight nausea
Fast shallow breathing
Biting my nails
A stream of thoughts playing over & over & over - scenarios, responses, conversations, what ifs?
Agoraphobic
Alopecia
A closing down
A shuttering of protection coming up
A masking of the turmoil beneath
And when peri menopause hit …..😱

My body feels the memory even now as I write this.

This is how my fear, anxiety, worry played out. Decades of this since a young age maybe 3 or 4 yrs old? The funny thing is, it was so woven into who I was that I didn’t even realise I could be anything else.

It wasn’t until I started my shamanic energy medicine work, I truly witnessed how this played out -
The stories & patterns
How it held me
Limited me
Exhausted me
Impacted those around me - those closest to me.

The heavy energy fuelling it, was deeply buried in my unconscious but I started to see & feel the deeper wounding-
Fear of abandonment
Feeling unsafe
Need of absolute control
A nervous system on high alert or in freeze or flight
The invisible threads weaving through my life binding me in an energetic cage.

Through Energy Medicine, NLP* & Reiki, I spiralled deeply inwards, gradually beginning to understand the reasons, to feel what I’d buried & release myself from its hold.

It was not easy & it took time but it was so worth it - to reclaim me.
This is why people laugh in disbelief because I am no longer that version of me. I am lighter, sovereign, standing in my power
And yes occasionally I still feel the nerves rise but that’s not failure - that is what it means to be human❤️

I make my clients cry…
That can’t be right, can it?

Well yes actually, it is. Sometimes my clients cry.
And it’s ok - it’s more than ok, it’s welcomed.

When we work with energy - when we gently move it through the body - we’re not just “relaxing”, we’re unlocking, shifting & releasing.

So much of what we’ve been through in life doesn’t disappear.
It gets stored. In the body. In the nervous system. In the spaces we’ve tightened & hold rigid.

When you finally feel safe.
When your nervous system softens.
When your body realises it doesn’t have to contain it anymore…

Emotion rises.

Not because something is wrong.
But because the feeling of safety is finally allowing what is ready, to be released.

Reiki in particular is incredible for this. It works gently. No force. No reliving trauma. Just creating a space where your system feels safe enough to let go.

And that’s often when the tears come.

Not dramatic.
Not overwhelming.
Just a quiet, unexpected flow of tears.

“I didn’t know what to expect… but I wasn’t expecting tears.”

I hear that a lot.

Tears don’t mean you’re weak.
They mean your body trusts.
They mean something stuck is finally moving.
They mean you felt safe enough to soften.

And then?
After the tears often comes a lightness, a calm, a spacious feeling from letting go.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “holding it together” all the time…
Maybe what you actually need is a space where you don’t have to.
A space where you can let the tears flow ❤️

Nancy & Louise go on a road trip (again)
I love a girls road trip!
I also love to chant.
I also love Glastonbury
So when Ana Otero announced her performance of her new album in Glastonbury’s St Margaret’s Chapel, I was all in & Nancy was there beside me😆

And what a trip - 36 hours of pure medicine - self love & laughter!
We ate yummy pub food @ The Mitre Inn
We shed releasing tears
We cried with laughter
We bought herbs @ Star Child Glastonbury
We made new friends
And we belly laughed some more

I sat in the chapel listening to Ana’s insights & chanting - singing along in beautiful unity.
Uninhibited.
Which is surprising - as from childhood, I was often told I can’t sing.
I felt peaceful, free & joyful.
Thank you Ana for the most beautiful, peaceful, light filled evening at a time when the world feels so dark & disconnected❤️

How did a middle-aged woman from Surrey become a Master Practitioner in Energy Medicine & Feminine Shamanism?

Honestly?
✨ Synchronicity
✨ A leap of faith
✨ And a whole lot of tears

Synchronicity-
Shamanism was never on my radar… until the words “shaman”, “shamanic” and “soul retrieval” started following me everywhere.
Social media. Magazines. Conversations.
A deep inner feeling - a nudge to investigate more.

A leap of faith-
A friend sent me a link to Nordic Light Academy.
With very little research (very unlike me), I trusted my intuition and signed up. No overthinking. A leap of faith

A lot a tears-
This work took me into the deepest witnessing of myself - all the ways I held myself back through life. The feelings of being trapped, responsibility for other’s happiness, anxiety, anger & the grief.

I have spent 1000’s of hours both giving & receiving energy medicine sessions. During my personal healing journey, I’ve shed tears of grief, screamed in anger, laughed with joy & metaphorically kicked myself with Aha moments & insights.

I was called to this work.
To walk the talk & in turn to gently help & guide others to remember who they are deep down.
