🔥 Cupping 🔥
Cupping is a therapeutic approach by attaching small jars to the body, in which a vacuum is created with a flame. Cupping can be used in combination with acupuncture.
It has the function of warming and promoting the free flow of qi and blood in the meridians, dispelling cold dampness, diminishing swelling and pain.
In clinic, it is mainly used to treat Bi syndrome caused by wind dampness, or general qi and blood stagnation, as seen in conditions like pain of the lower back, the shoulders and the leg.
It can also be used to help with cough and asthma, or expel external pathogenic wind invasion at the start of a cold.
Bringing blood and qi to the surface of the skin is what creates the purple marks that are associated with cupping. This is not as scary as it looks, it is a positive thing to re-establish flow and warmth in the area.
