It’s not just care. It’s continuity. It’s connection.

When Una visited Warrington a few weeks ago, she only needed support for two mornings. But before booking, she wanted to know one thing: was Mayfield still here, two decades after we cared for her husband?

The answer was a joyful yes. Even better? The voice on the phone was Karen’s — the very same team member who had supported her husband 20 years ago. And when the visits came around, it was Karen who opened the door once again.

Danny also dropped by to say hello, and together they reminisced about Mayfield’s history and the stories that make this work so meaningful.

For us, this isn’t just about consistency. It’s about relationships that last, and memories that matter.

What sets Mayfield apart?

Consistency. The same faces week in, week out… no, year in, year out… actually, let’s go further—decade in, decade out.

We absolutely love this, and we absolutely loved hearing from Una three weeks ago. She was visiting from Edinburgh for just two days, required a morning visit for both days, and decided to check whether Mayfield were still going after we’d supported her husband 20 years ago.

To her delight, who picked up the phone? Karen, one of the very same care team members who had supported her husband all those years ago. And fast forward two decades, Karen was the person who went out to support Una herself.

Una, what an absolute delight it was to see you during your trip to Warrington. Karen loved every moment, and Danny popped in to say hello too, he thoroughly enjoyed hearing your stories and reminiscing about Mayfield’s history.

Moments like these remind us what we already know: we have something truly special at Mayfield. We don’t just provide care, we touch people’s lives and we create beautiful memories for the people we care for.

Well, would you look at this!

Isn’t it incredible what can be achieved when great people come together?

Danny first met this wonderful team back in February — and, true to form (he loves inviting himself to absolutely everything), he thought, “I’ll get in on this!”

Fast forward to July, and Danny walked 73 miles with them, helping raise an amazing £16,023.21 for St Rocco’s Hospice — an organisation we all hold in the highest regard.

Now, let’s not give Danny too much credit here. He simply turned up, put one foot in front of the other mile after mile for 30 hours, and happily posed for the photos afterwards. Howerever, Lee and this incredible team have been working tirelessly, organising event after event to reach this remarkable figure though, well done Lee and team — and it looks like they’ve got plenty more planned!

Here’s hoping we’ve finally found someone who burn some of Danny’s endless energy levels.

A huge thank-you to everyone who donated and supported along the way — every step, every pound, and every cheer has made a real difference for St Rocco’s Hospice.

Thank you, Becky C.

It’s been a joy to receive so much wonderful feedback about Becky recently. When we shared it with her, she simply smiled and said: “It’s about time!” – which perfectly sums up the quiet confidence of someone who knows they’re doing a great job.

In recent weeks:

One client described Becky as “the one with the beautiful face,” adding that she’s not only a fantastic carer, but having watched her, she is also a wonderful teacher to our newer team members.

Another family called to thank Becky for stopping to help when their mum had fallen – even though Becky wasn’t due to be there at all.

This moment speaks volumes. Becky was on her way to another visit when she noticed one of our team’s cars outside a different client’s home. Knowing the routine, she realised something didn’t add up. Rather than driving on, she stopped – and arrived just in time to support both the carer and the client during an emergency.

This is what makes Mayfield special. Our team notice the small things, they know each other’s calls and routines, they instinctively look out for one another and the people we care for.

Becky, thank you for showing exactly what compassion, teamwork, and dedication look like in action. Whether or not you let us share a photo of that “beautiful face,” we’re so proud of you.

An unbreakable bond. A business partnership. A friendship that shaped Mayfield.

Today is the first day Mayfield opens its doors without Barbara – and truthfully, it feels strange even writing that. How do you sum up nearly three decades of dedication, loyalty, and heart in just a few words? The truth is… you can’t.

Barbara’s story with Mayfield begins long before she ever joined the business. In Warrington Hospital on 24th August 1987, two new mums, Barbara and Christine met for the very first time. Neither could they have guessed that this chance meeting, as they welcomed their youngest children into the world, would grow into a friendship that would last a lifetime.

Two years later, Christine placed a small advert in the local paper offering support to anyone who needed it. Soon after, her front room became Mayfield’s very first office. And five years later, Barbara walked through the door to join the team, and she never looked back.

From those humble beginnings to the thriving service Mayfield is today, Barbara has been there every step of the way. Steadfast. Reliable. A friend, a colleague, and a cornerstone of who we are.

Barbara, from everyone at Mayfield Homecare Services, thank you. For everything. We wish you a retirement full of family, laughter, and the travels you love so much. You’ve more than earned it.

We absolutely loved hearing from Petra after yesterday’s facebook post! One of our amazing care team members

Because at 3 a.m. on Sunday morning, Petra also climbed Mount Snowdon to catch the sunrise.

And just to put Danny to shame, she was at her first client two hours before Danny even made it to work yesterday (just saying!).

This was also Petra’s very first hike, just a cheeky 9 miles with 975 metres of elevation. She admitted that walking yesterday felt a little tougher than most Mondays, but the magic of that sunrise carried her through. It was even more special because it’s been on her bucket list for a long time.

Petra, we are so proud of you, and you should be too, well done. You didn't just go on a hike, You climbed a mountain and a big one at that!

Danny’s fast asleep at his desk… AGAIN.

But this time, we’re not waking him up to tell him to do some actual work, he actually deserves this power nap.

Why? Because on Saturday at 1am, Danny swapped his bed for hiking boots and joined an amazing group of fundraisers for a charity trek up Snowdon.

Danny first met John during last July’s epic 73-mile walk from Llandudno to Warrington (apparently, they bonded over shared pain and blisters), and now he’s officially part of John’s fundraising dream team.

You’ll even spot Danny at Strictly Come Dancing this year — don’t panic, he’s not dancing (thankfully for everyone’s safety and his own pride), but he’ll be cheering from the sidelines and jumping in on future fundraising events.

All of this is in support of St Roccos Hospice, a charity very close to our hearts here at Mayfield Homecare Services.

What sets Mayfield apart?

Recently, we welcomed a new client who had been searching for a new care provider. Last time they chose a provider, they chose based on price alone, but quickly learned that not all companies are the same.

This time, they decided to do their research and invited three providers to carry out an assessment.

Meet Claire, the very first person you’ll meet from Mayfield. Claire carries out our assessments, making sure we understand your needs from day one.

During this client’s assessment, Claire noticed the bed and pillows weren’t quite neat and tidy. Without hesitation — mid-conversation — she fluffed the pillows and tucked in the sheets.

It was at that moment the client said:

“This is the care company for me.”

Why? Because we care about everything we do. Big things, small things — it all matters. We want you to feel comfortable, respected, and able to stay independent in your own home.

Choosing a care provider means inviting someone into your personal space to deliver one of the most intimate services you’ll ever receive. We wish price didn’t have to be such a deciding factor — because when it comes to care, it should be about trust, compassion, and quality.
