Looking back, Ted reflects on life with the same positivity he carried then: ‘It taught me a lot about life.’ 💙 Despite facing illness, his strength, joy, and love for life continue to shine through, supported every step of the way by his devoted wife and New Care.

🌟 Meet Michaela O'Brien – Home Manager at Upland Manor Care Home 🌟

We’re delighted to welcome Michaela O'Brien as the newly appointed Home Manager at Upland Manor Care Home, opening October 2025 in Wythenshawe.

With over 20 years of experience in the care sector, Michaela’s journey began as a Care Assistant and quickly progressed through leadership roles, including Team Leader, Deputy Manager, and Home Manager – a position she has proudly held for the past 15 years.

Most recently, Michaela led with distinction at Ashlands Manor (New Care), earning a reputation for compassionate leadership and exceptional standards in care. She’s now excited to bring that same passion and excellence to Upland Manor, a brand-new, purpose-built home under the Lovett Care family.

🗣 Michaela shared:
“The most rewarding part of being a Home Manager is seeing the difference the team makes to the residents living in the home. I’m excited to build a positive culture at Upland Manor and support a new team in providing the very best care.”

🧩 Cheadle Manor x St Ann’s Hospice Collaboration 🧩

When our friends at St Ann’s Hospice reached out for help checking donated jigsaws, our amazing residents and team jumped at the chance to support such a meaningful cause 💙

Over cups of tea, shared stories, and a lot of laughs, we’ve been busy piecing together puzzles of all sizes – the 500-piece was completed in just one day! 🎉 The 1000-piece took a little longer, but the sense of achievement (and teamwork!) made it so worthwhile.
These completed puzzles will now go on to raise vital funds for St Ann’s Hospice – and we couldn’t be prouder to play a part 💕 It’s been more than just a fun activity – it’s brought joy, purpose, and connection to our residents, families, and staff.

🌸 Our residents have been enjoying a lovely flower arranging session this week! 🌸

We’re especially lucky to have Terasa among us — she used to arrange flowers for the local church, and now she’s bringing her beautiful talent to Statham Manor. 💐

Thanks to her creative touch, our reception area is now filled with stunning floral displays that brighten everyone’s day!

Our amazing Maintenance Manager, Roger, turned 60! 🛠️🎂

Roger is the person who keeps Statham Manor running smoothly behind the scenes — always ready with a helping hand and a friendly smile. From small repairs to big improvements, he does it all with care and dedication.

We’re so lucky to have him as part of the team, and we were thrilled to mark this special occasion with him. 🥳

🌞 A Day to Remember at Lytham St Anne’s! 🌊🌸

Our wonderful Myley group had the most fantastic day out — and the sunshine was definitely on our side!

We kicked things off with a lovely picnic in the beautiful Lowther Pavilion Gardens, soaking in the floral surroundings and the fresh sea air. 🌺🍃

There was laughter, singing on the prom 🎶, and plenty of reminiscing — a day full of fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories.
Here’s to many more adventures like this! 💛

🌺 Aloha from Statham Manor! 🌞

What an incredible day we had at our Hawaiian-themed Summer Fayre — bursting with fun, laughter, and sunshine from start to finish! 🌴🍍

The sound of live steel drums filled the air, setting the perfect tropical vibe, while our amazing kitchen team served up delicious BBQ food and homemade cakes. 🍔🍰

Guests sipped on refreshing drinks from our fabulous cocktail bar, and our jam-packed tombola was a huge hit — all made possible thanks to the generous donations from our wonderful community. 🎟️🍹

To top it all off, the British weather was on its best behaviour, shining down on a day full of smiles and special memories. 🌞🌸

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for all their hard work in bringing the day together — your efforts make days like this truly unforgettable. 💛

Our residents had an absolute blast, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!

🧶 Knit & Natter at Statham Manor ☕️

Some of our lovely residents recently shared that they’d love to get back into knitting — so we’ve launched our very own Knitting Club! 🧵✨

To kick things off, we’re working together on a patchwork blanket, with each resident knitting a square to create something truly special (and cosy!). 🧶💜

Our first session was a real success — not just for the knitting, but for the wonderful natter over tea, plenty of laughter, and cherished conversations. It’s all about connection, creativity, and community. 💬🫖

We can’t wait to see the blanket grow week by week — and welcome more residents to join in!

On this glorious sunny day, our wonderful team took a moment to pause, cool off with some delicious ice cream 🍦, and reflect on something really important — how to manage negative thoughts.

Together, we shared ideas and came to a powerful conclusion: the best way to silence those negative voices is by focusing on the good things in our lives and practicing gratitude 💭✨

We’re incredibly lucky here at Statham to have such a caring and supportive team. When tough moments arise, there’s always someone ready to listen, support, and help guide us back to a more positive mindset ❤️
