We’ve had a wonderful time ‘cruising’ around the World sampling so many different meals. A huge thank you to the brilliant Kitchen Team. Dawn, Marc, Jo, Beth and Lauren you absolutely smashed it 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟We must also congratulate our activity team for decorating the home every week and arranging fun cultural activities. Well done Mel & Lily 🌟🌟Finally the whole team deserves a pat on the back for embracing this competition and whatever the outcome you are all winners for continuing to make Three Bridges the wonderful home it is.
So how do we round off this gastronomical journey we’ve been on…there was only one choice…Good old British fish and chips from our local chippy. Just what our lovely residents deserve 💚

We welcomed a wonderful gentlemen into the home this week and asked him what could we do to help him settle. No 1 request was a pamper and good shave. Mel worked her magic and we said goodbye to ‘Father Christmas’ and met a dashing man underneath 😊

We reached our final port in India this week. Our lovely residents enjoyed the wonderful food the kitchen team prepared and were offered hand massages or henna hand tattoos. Another great day in the home 🇮🇳

Last week we explored South America, looking at their traditions and foods. The kitchen team, once again, prepared wonderful dishes and the relatives enjoyed trying to ‘smash’ open the piñata 🪅

From Tuesday 22nd July, for one week, there will be a clothes rail in the small lounge on Riverview with clothes belonging to residents from Bridgewater and Riverview. They are all unnamed. Please check the rail and clearly name any clothes you recognise as belonging to your relative before returning them to their room. Thank you

This is so much more than a simple cuddle. Physical touch reduces anxiety, promotes wellbeing and a sense of security. Holding a hand or a gentle embrace can do so much good and it’s what makes our carers so very special 🤗🥰

This week we were thrilled to welcome one of our relatives into the home, who had offered to demonstrate some of the moves and exercises she teaches. The residents and their families joined in and had a wonderful time 💚

Our homes have been cooking up a storm across the China Sea 🐉

This week, our Cruise Around the World competition took us to China, and the food and activities did not disappoint! From tasty beef in black bean sauce and crispy spring rolls to mandarin lessons and cultural quizzes, everyone had a bao-tiful time 🍜

With only 2 more weeks to go, the competition is steaming up and we're so excited to see what's in store next week over in the New World!

🎉 👏 ✨ WE RAISED £5,000 FOR ALZHEIMER'S SOCIETY! 🎉 👏 ✨

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we hit our £5,000 fundraising target for Dementia Action Week! Our wonderful care homes and support centre team hosted bake sales, sponsored walks, 24-hour-a-thons, parties, rowing challenges (you name it, they did it 😂), all in aid of Alzheimer's Society. As a provider of dementia-specialist care, this charity is very close to our hearts and we're honoured to be able to support their work.

To everyone who took part in events, shared our posts or donated - thank you! It's thanks to you that Alzheimer's Society can continue helping people living with dementia, and we couldn't be prouder of our team for everything they've done.

A special thank you to the wonderful Gordon from Ashlea Mews Care Home, who kindly helped us with our announcement! 💕

Six months on, Albert's wife, Collette, has been reflecting on her journey from being a full-time carer to finding additional support for her husband, and how one particular colleague, Nicola, became a vital part of her support network 🥹

Over the next 5 weeks, our care homes are battling it out to be crowned the Cruise Champion - and for our very first week, we're heading to the Caribbean! From making salt fish patties to creating immersive experiences for our residents, the teams have had so much fun in the Caribbean! 🌴 🌊 🌞

Will the current reigning champions, Paddock Stile Manor Dementia Care Home, keep the crown? Or will it be taken by another one of our homes?

On Friday, Penwortham Grange and Lodge Care Home celebrated the 100th birthday of their lovely resident, June! Friends, family and fellow residents enjoyed an afternoon of dancing, eating birthday cake and reminiscing over June's incredible 100 years 🥹

Thank you to Councillor Paul Wharton-Hardman BEM and Paul Foster, MP for South Ribble & Chorley Rural West, for coming along to celebrate with us!

We'd also like to give a huge thank you to the activities team at Penwortham Grange and Lodge for organising such a fantastic birthday party and continuously going above and beyond for our residents - you did an amazing job ❤️
