We’re almost at the end of month 3 in trialing set activities on the same day each week.

Unfortunately this week there is no Music in Mind, but don’t be too disappointed as Ian will be back next week and everything else is running according to plan. It’s also our fortnightly visit from our tiny friends at Jo Jingles and Rafael Comino is here on Friday presenting his silent movie show.

We loved our visit from Mobile Farm Cheshire yesterday. Unfortunately we didn’t get many photos to show you, but you can imagine the surprise seeing seeing Valais Blacknose Sheep, Pigmy Goats, Rabbits and Chickens touring all our households.

Everyone loved it.

Another lovely week ahead here at Gainsborough House!

As well as our regular therapeutic activities it’s St Patrick’s Day on Tuesday and our art therapy session will have an Irish theme. We’ve already had the luck of the Irish, because we managed to book a mobile farm for Tuesday’s animal therapy, those slots are like gold dust! There’s no Music in mind this week, so instead the wonderful Steve Flynn will be continuing our Irish theme with a fabulous not to be missed Irish set. On Thursday we have the amazing Teresa Harper who will be singing songs from the 50’s and 60’s to get you all in mood for dancing.

We’ve had a lovely early Mother’s Day treat today, with a ‘Sounds of the Movies’ show presented by Carol from Cats Pajamas Productions.

Residents, family, and team members gathered together to enjoy their olds favourite songs from Roger’s and Hammerstein. Four costume changes and lots of songs and photo opportunities later, we were all remembering the shows we’ve seen and talking about our favourite ones.

We had many requests for more ‘show’ type entertainment, so hopefully we can add more into our activity plans in the coming months.

What ever you do on Tuesday 17th March, it’s St Patrick’s Day and you’ll have the luck of the Irish at 2pm if you’re visiting.

Mobile Farm Cheshire will be touring all our units. Valais Black nose - the cutest of all sheep, Pygmy goats, a chicken and a rabbit will be stopping by every resident to make their day. Yours too, if you’re there!
