Prevention can be just as powerful as treatment. Here are some essential DOs and DON'Ts to help protect your spine and ease discomfort:

✅ DOs for a Happy Back
- Do Sit tall: Maintain a neutral spine when seated
- Do Lift smart: Use your legs, not your back, and keep objects close
- Do Move often: Take regular breaks to stretch and walk
- Do sleep well: Choose a supportive mattress that keeps your spine aligned
- Do Stay active: Enjoy low-impact exercises like walking or swimming

- Don’t slouch or hunch over your desk

Let’s talk about one of chiropractic care’s underrated heroes: the Neck Side Stretch. It's easy, so just give it a try!

STEP 1:
Sit or stand tall with shoulders relaxed.

STEP 2:
Tilt your head gently toward one shoulder without raising the shoulder.

STEP 3:
Hold for 15–20 seconds, then repeat on the other side.

💡 Why will this stretch help me?
Relieves neck stiffness and tension, especially from prolonged sitting or screen time.

Open your arms, stretch your chest:

STEP 1:
Stand beside a door frame and place your palm flat against it at shoulder height.

STEP 2:
Slowly rotate your body away from the door frame until you feel a stretch across your chest.

STEP 3:
Hold for 20 seconds, then switch sides.

💡 Why will this stretch help me?
Opens the chest and shoulders, counteracting forward posture from desk work.

7 Posture Personalities: Which One’s Got Your Back? 🧐

There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to posture - our bodies are wonderfully unique. But experts generally recognize a handful of common posture types, each with its own quirks and challenges. Here's a breakdown to help you spot which one might be yours:

🧍‍♂️ Common Posture Types:

Neutral Posture - Ideal alignment: ears over shoulders, shoulders over hips, hips over ankles - Good ergonomics, regular movement

Kyphosis - Excessive rounding of the upper back (hunchback appearance) - Osteoporosis, poor posture habits

Lordosis (Swayback) - Exaggerated inward curve of the lower back - Weak core, prolonged standing/sitting

Flat Back - Reduced natural curve in the lower spine, causing a forward lean - Degenerative disc disease, aging

Forward Head - Head juts forward past shoulders (aka “text neck”) - Screen time, poor desk setup
