This month, all of our homes are celebrating Treat Weeks—a special way for us to say thank you to our incredible staff. Over the course of a week, we’ll be sharing small gifts to show our appreciation for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork.💛

Every day, our Sandstone Care Group staff go above and beyond to create a welcoming, caring, and supportive environment for everyone at our homes, and this is just a small way to recognise the huge difference they make. 🌟

🌧️ A Cozy Countryside Lunch with St Helens Hall 💛

Yesterday, the residents of St Helens Hall enjoyed a delightful trip to the countryside for lunch at the Plough Inn. Despite the grey skies, the cozy atmosphere and warm welcome inside made everyone feel right at home 😊

🍽️ Delicious food, cheerful conversation, and lots of laughter made it a truly memorable afternoon. It was the perfect way for residents to spend time together, sharing stories and creating happy memories that will last long after the rain has passed ☀️.

🌟 Arts & Crafts at Ribble Court Nursing Home! 🌟

🎨 The residents, relatives, and team members joined forces to make bright handprints that will soon form the leaves of our Tree of Life. This creative project is part of their preparations for The National Day of Arts in Care Homes this September, a nationwide initiative that highlights how the arts can enrich wellbeing, spark imagination, and bring people together in care settings. 🍃🖌️

🎉 Later in the day, they kept the smiles flowing with a fun-filled game of prize bingo – with plenty of laughter (and a few lucky winners!).

We can’t wait to share more creative activities and joyful moments throughout the month ahead from our Care Homes. 💛

🌟 Inspiring Fundraising Challenge 🌟

We’re so proud of Rad Tingle, Kitchen Manager at Ribble Court Nursing Home, and Care Home Manager, Dawn Fawthorp, who are set to take on a 10-day trek across Cambodia in November 2025! 🥾🇰🇭

Together, they’re aiming to raise £3,500 for the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Renal Unit, which provided life-saving care for Rad during his recent kidney transplant and continues to support him in his treatment.

Rad lives with Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome, and his determination to give back to the team that cared for him is truly inspiring.

We couldn’t be prouder of Rad and Dawn for taking on this incredible journey. Let’s cheer them on every step of the way! 🙌

We are so proud of our very own Kitchen Manager, Rad Tingle, and Care Home Manager, Dawn Fawthorp, who are set to take on a 10-day trek across Cambodia in November 2025! 🥾🇰🇭

This daring duo is aiming to raise £3,500 in support of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Renal Unit – the incredible team who cared for Rad during his recent kidney transplant and continue to support him through his ongoing treatment. ❤️

For Rad, this challenge is deeply personal. Living with Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes tumours and cysts to grow in different parts of the body, Rad knows firsthand the vital role the renal unit plays. His determination to give back is nothing short of inspiring.

✨ Baking Up Memories at Telford Hall Nursing Home ✨

Yesterday, our wonderful residents at Telford Hall Care Home enjoyed a fun-filled baking activity – and the results were as sweet as the smiles it created! 🧁👩‍🍳

Baking together is more than just making tasty treats – it’s a way to spark cherished memories, encourage creativity, and bring a real sense of togetherness. For many of our residents, the familiar smells and hands-on fun bring back happy times spent with family in the kitchen, making the experience extra special. 💛

Because in our homes, life isn’t just about care – it’s about living well, making memories, and sharing happiness.

🌞 Well done to The Oaks Care Home team! 🎉

The Oaks Nursing Home hosted a fantastic Summer Gala filled with fun, laughter, community spirit, and plenty of memorable moments. From live entertainment and stalls to a wonderful raffle, it truly was a day to remember for our residents. 🎟️🎶

Events like these highlight the enriching activities our residents enjoy ❤️ — connecting with the local community and creating experiences that bring joy and togetherness. Our residents loved seeing so many familiar faces and being part of such a lively celebration. 😊🤝

👏 Thank you to everyone who supported and helped raise funds for the Residents Comfort Fund and Guide Dogs UK 💐🐾! Over £600 for the Residents Comfort Fund and over £40 for Guide Dogs UK (raised from their Bric-a-Brac stall).

🌟 A huge congratulations to St Helens Hall for hosting such a fantastic gala on Saturday! 🌟

The team, residents, families, and friends came together for a day filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit — and we are delighted to share that the event raised an amazing £800. 🎉💙

From this incredible total, £200 will be donated to the Guide Dogs Trust, which is Sandstone Care's chosen charity for the year. 🐾 The Guide Dogs Trust carries out life-changing work by supporting people with sight loss, and we’re proud to help contribute towards their mission.

The remaining funds will go directly into the Residents’ Fund, ensuring that the people who live at St Helens Hall continue to enjoy exciting activities, trips, and special experiences that make every day meaningful. 👵👴💐

The day was a true celebration of teamwork and togetherness, and we’re so grateful to everyone who came along, supported, and helped make the gala such a success. 💫

We’re already looking forward to the next event and can’t wait to see what St Helens Hall has in store!

🍪 Baking Fun at Ribble Court Nursing Home! 👩🏼‍🍳

Residents at Ribble Court recently enjoyed a delightful baking session, making one of their favourite treats – classic fork biscuits! 👩🏼‍🍳

From measuring ingredients to shaping the dough, everyone had fun creating these tasty snacks. The delicious results were enjoyed together during afternoon tea, bringing smiles all around. 😋

The residents have been making the most of some wonderful new activities this week! 🏡💛

Thanks to the generous donation of therapy dolls, the lovely residents have been enjoying comfort, connection, and plenty of smiles👩‍🍼

They also got creative with some colourful jar-decorating crafts 🫙🎨🖌️—a perfect way to spend a cozy afternoon together.

We love seeing the joy these activities bring to our homes! 💖

🌸 Summer Afternoon Tea at Burscough Manor Nursing Home 🌸

This past Saturday, Burscough Manor hosted a wonderful Summer Afternoon Tea – and it was a huge success!

A big thank you to Sam, Kirsty, Erica & Caren for organising such a lovely event, and to Chef Nick and his talented kitchen team for creating an incredible spread of cakes and pastries that looked divine. 🍰✨

We’re also grateful to the amazing staff team who helped bring the afternoon together, and to everyone who joined in the fun – from enjoying the treats and drinks to singing along with the karaoke. 🎤☕

It was a truly special afternoon filled with laughter, music, and community spirit. 💛

🎉 Hats off to the incredible team and wonderful residents at Longridge Hall! 🎉

They absolutely smashed their 50’s Summer Fair — rocking the vintage looks, creating an atmosphere full of joy, and putting on a fantastic day with loads of stalls, games, tombola, and delicious food. 🍔🎯🍭

It’s this kind of passion, creativity, and community spirit that makes Longridge Hall truly special. You all brought the era to life and made unforgettable memories for everyone involved. 👏💖

🎉 Bingo & Scones at St Helens Hall! 🎉

Last week was full of smiles and laughter as our residents enjoyed a classic game of bingo followed by some delicious homemade scones – complete with jam and cream, of course! 😋🎱🍓

Just look at all the fantastic prizes our residents won — from sweet treats to little pamper goodies, there were smiles all around! 🏆🎁

It was a lovely afternoon of fun, friendly competition, and tasty treats. A big thank you to our wonderful team for making it so special!
