🌻 Supporting Dementia Awareness in Our Communities 🌻

This week, our team at Fleetwood Hall Care Home hosted a Free Dementia Care Workshop at Fleetwood Town FC — and what an incredible day it was! 💙

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended — families, carers, and professionals — all coming together with a shared commitment to improving the lives of those living with dementia.

The session explored key areas such as effective communication, understanding behaviours, and creating safe, supportive environments. The discussions and personal stories shared truly reflected the power of community and compassion.

At Sandstone Care Group, we’re proud to see our homes and teams leading initiatives that promote understanding and quality care. Events like this demonstrate our ongoing commitment to supporting residents, families, and the wider community.

We’re so proud of Rad Tingle and Dawn Fawthorp from our Ribble Court Nursing Home, who will be taking on the Angkor Wat Trek in Cambodia from 8th to 16th November 2025 to raise money for a fantastic cause! ❤️

This incredible adventure will see them exploring the Angkor Wat Trail, taking in stunning temples, local villages, and breathtaking scenery — all while pushing themselves to make a real difference. ✨

🌺 Remembrance Activities at St Helens Hall 🌺

Yesterday, our wonderful residents at St Helens Hall Care Home began their Remembrance activities with some heartfelt arts and crafts. ❤️

Together, they created beautiful tributes to honour those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. These moments not only help us remember and reflect, but also bring our residents together in shared stories, memories, and creativity.

It’s always inspiring to see the sense of pride and community that shines through during Remembrance — a truly meaningful time for everyone at St Helens Hall. 🌹

🍁 Autumn Creativity at Ribble Court Nursing Home 🍂

Yesterday, our residents at Ribble Court embraced the beauty of the season by crafting some truly lovely autumnal wreaths to decorate their home. The rich colours of the leaves brought warmth and joy to the day — and a touch of autumn magic to every corner of the home! 🍂✨

It was a wonderful opportunity for residents to get creative, share stories, and celebrate the changing season together.

🍂 A Lovely Day Out for The Oaks Nursing Home Residents! 🍂

Residents from The Oaks enjoyed a wonderful outing to Coed-y-Dinas Garden Centre this week. They tucked into a tasty lunch, had a leisurely browse, and played a few games before taking their now-traditional scenic detour around Powis Castle on the way home. The beautiful autumn colours made the day even more special. 🍁🌻

A big thank you to John Cooper for generously gifting two sacks of daffodil bulbs to the home — the residents are looking forward to planting them later in the week! 🌼💛

🦔🐍 Bringing the Wild to Oak Springs Care Home! 🐍🦔

Residents at Oak Springs Care Home Group enjoyed a fantastic visit from a mobile zoo! 🐢🐇

The experience gave everyone the chance to get up close with a range of fascinating animals — including snakes, hedgehogs, and more friendly creatures. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and wonderful moments as residents learned about and interacted with the animals. 💚
