In relation to yesterdays update and regarding any confusion I may have caused about the clinic opening on Monday. To clarify the doors are definitely closed, but I am making myself available for emergency treatments only and it is most definitely not business as usual.
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Physio First, the organisation for Physios in Private Practice, have provided new guidelines for Private practices considering offering Face to Face consultations.
The preferred option for consultation at this present time should still be remotely via 2-way video link up, as all face to face appointments with patients MUST be clinically justified.
During the initial telephone conversation I will be undertaking a full risk assessment and making a clinically reasoned decision for offering either remote or face to face consultation for every patient on a treatment by treatment basis. I will also be screening for COVID-19 signs and symptoms, including those whom the patient has regular contact with for example those living in the same house. We will also perform forehead infrared temperature tests before clinic entry, if the face to face option is decided.
If face to face is deemed necessary by both parties, I will discuss all the new protocols put into place regarding infection prevention and control measures. This will include well spaced out appointment times, with only 1 patient and me in the clinic at any one time. It will also include the use of PPE and decontamination procedures between each treatment sessions.
If you feel that you would like to discuss this further, please leave your name and number on the clinic answer machine-01925 575066 and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Patient and my safety are paramount always in this most unprecedented time.
Thank you and stay safe.
