We're so grateful to the team at Micro Scooters UK for their generous donation of scooters and helmets for our Holiday Clubs. We've had a wheely great time using them at our provision over the last few weeks!
Scooting to school has lots of benefits, helping keep children active and healthy as well as being planet-friendly and improving our local environment 🛴🌳🌻

🔹DID YOU KNOW? Children learn all about healthy eating and dental hygiene when they come to our Holiday Clubs.
🔸We've been snack sorting, creating brushing charts, used plaque tablets and watched videos to show the importance of dental health with some fun projects during the Summer.
🔹Thanks to Healthwatch Warrington, Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Warrington Borough Council, we've been able to distribute HUNDREDS of Junior Dental Packs to families across Warrington 😁👏

We've enjoyed some great bikeability sessions during our Holiday Club. This was the first time on a bike for some of our children but they all looked like pro's by the end of it! 🚲🚲🚲

There were lots of activities and a few adventures during Week 4 of our HAF provision. We've been junk modelling and water gun painting, we made bird feeders and rock art and we even went on a bug scavenger hunt! 🎨🌸🎈🎵🐾🐝🐞

We were delighted to welcome Charlotte Nichols MP and some of the team from Warrington Borough Council to our HAF Holiday Club provision today. The HAF programme is crucial for local families needing a little extra help during the school holidays, offering free activities, healthy meals, social interaction, welfare support and, of course, lots of FUN!

It was lovely to drop into the HAF programme at St Stephen’s Catholic Primary School this morning, which is run by St. Joseph's Family Centre, alongside some of the council's Families and Wellbeing team. The kids were in high spirits and clearly really enjoying themselves, with a whole range of different activities on for them to enjoy including sports, baking, and crafts. One of them proudly showed me the most impressive loom band I've ever seen that was about ten foot long!

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is a scheme funded by the Department for Education. It gives children who are eligible for free school meals the opportunity to take part in fun, enriching activities and receive a healthy meal. It runs during Easter, summer and the Christmas school holidays, which can be difficult for families to manage the extra costs of while keeping children active and entertained.

We have a range of different clubs all across town with different activities so every child can find something that they enjoy. We have the fantastic team from Bike Right joining us to offer bikeability sessions during our Holiday Club. The courses offer children the skills and confidence to cycle safely on today's roads. Plus we have lots of FUN along the way! 🚲

Week 2 of our Holiday Club was 'Bug Week.' Our team member, James, introduced his pet Tarantulas 🕷 🙈, we did a show and tell with edible bugs for the children to see and try if they wanted to 😝, we made fossils and cricket footprints 👣 and had lots of fun crafting and playing games 🎨🎯
We're having so much fun at St Barnabas CE Primary School and
St Andrew's C.E Primary School! 😀

We're happy to report that St Joseph's has been successful in a bid to the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire to provide funding for additional places at our Holiday Clubs. It enables us to support local families who may not be eligible for HAF funding but still need a little extra help over the Summer holidays.

What an incredible first week we've had at our HAF Holiday Club at St Barnabas CE Primary School! 🤩
Superhero capes, giant fruits, face painting, boxing skills, sports, fitness, crafts, games, competitions, and so much more! Plus an AMAZING Disney party to end the week! 🦸‍♀️🍓🎨🎖🎉
