The Old Rectory Nursing Home is a care home set in three acres of quiet, leafy grounds nestled between st Wilfred’s Church and the Bridgewater Canal within the community village of Grappenhall. Her beautiful voice and warm presence had everyone clapping, singing along, and even dancing in their seats. Yvonne’s performances are always a highlight, and it's easy to see why our residents adore her!

This Saturday, some of our lovely residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon out to see a live brass band performance! 🚌💨

The music was uplifting and the smiles said it all. From familiar tunes to toe-tapping marches, the band put on a brilliant show that brought back many fond memories.

A big thank you to the organisers and volunteers who made the day so special. We’re already looking forward to the next musical adventure! 🎵💛

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of celebrating a very special milestone — Beryl’s 90th birthday! 💐💛

Surrounded by friends, laughter, and plenty of cake, Beryl enjoyed a beautiful afternoon filled with music and memories. A huge thank you to the wonderful Yvonne, whose singing brought so much joy and had us all clapping along!

🎉 Prom Night – Rectory Style! 🎉

Last week, our trusty Rectory minibus took a very special detour — not for a shopping trip or scenic outing this time… but to drop off prom goers! 🚌💃🕺

Amongst all the gleaming sports cars, stretch limos, and revving engines, our minibus proudly rolled in — a little less horsepower maybe, but a lot more heart. 💛

It might not have had the flashiest exhaust, but it got the biggest smiles — and definitely the loudest laughs from everyone watching!

Wishing the lads a fantastic prom night — we’re just happy our beloved bus could be part of the adventure (and still make it back in one piece 😉).

What a joyful day it was celebrating Grappenhall Walking Day with our lovely residents and community! 💐

We were thrilled to watch the colourful parades, hear the beautiful music, and enjoy the atmosphere filled with smiles, laughter, and tradition. Some of our residents shared their own memories of Walking Days from years gone by — such special stories that made the day even more meaningful. 💭❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who made the event so special, and to our staff for supporting residents to enjoy the day safely and comfortably.

Last month, our residents enjoyed a wonderful day of remembrance and celebration as we marked VE Day together.

From singing wartime classics and waving Union Jack flags to sharing stories, laughter, and a traditional afternoon tea, the day was filled with joy and heartfelt memories. Many of our residents have personal connections to this historic day, and it was a true honour to hear their reflections.
