The Old Rectory Nursing Home We are a family-owned home. The home aims to deliver a high standard of professional care at all times to those residents in its care.

The Old Rectory Nursing Home is a care home set in three acres of quiet, leafy grounds nestled between st Wilfred’s Church and the Bridgewater Canal within the community village of Grappenhall. The care provision at The Old Rectory endorses a holistic approach which is sensitive to the needs of each resident and encompasses the following essential aspects of the person.

Residents and their families joined together for an afternoon of festive questions, friendly competition, and lots of laughter.
It was wonderful to see everyone chatting, guessing, and cheering each other on — the perfect mix of Christmas spirit and community fun.

Last week, our residents enjoyed a truly wonderful Christmas party filled with laughter, music, and festive cheer 🎶🎄
From delicious treats and Christmas songs to dancing, smiles, and special moments shared together, it was a lovely way to celebrate the season.

Seeing everyone come together and enjoy the festivities reminded us what this time of year is all about — warmth, connection, and joy 💖

Our residents spent a wonderful afternoon making their own Christmas wreaths yesterday — sharing stories, laughter, and a few Christmas tunes along the way.
It was a beautiful start to our festive calendar, and we can’t wait for all the Christmas activities still to come!

We had a fantastic time celebrating Bonfire Night with our residents, families, and neighbours. The firework display lit up the sky beautifully, and the smiles said it all!

Our residents put their thinking caps on today for a lively quiz afternoon. There were plenty of laughs, a bit of friendly competition, and lots of cheering each other on. 🎉

Our residents joined in with some favourite tunes, and the atmosphere was simply magical – laughter, singing, and even a little dancing! 💙
