How we Bloomed...
A long time ago in a living room far, far away… some midwives (and a few mischievous babies) sat down together and thought ‘how can we share what we are passionate and skilled about all to do with pregnancy, birth and parenting?’. After many cups of tea (and some milk), some homemade soup and plenty of distractions, Parents in Bloom was born! Here are some key themes we all thought were important to base our business on:
...We want to take a holistic view of families’ journey into parenting, whether that be focussing on the whole family rather than just the woman who is pregnant, being concerned with the psychological and emotional aspects rather than just the physical, and supporting families through pregnancy, birth and postnatally. We don’t want to limit ourselves to one aspect of our midwifery training (such as only providing a ‘hypnobirthing’ style course just focussed on the birth) as we believe they are all intertwined.
...we don’t want to ‘teach’ how to give birth/be parents/look after babies. We want to provide information, support and advice based on evidence and experience to enable you to create your own journey into parenthood feeling confident and knowledgeable.
