Today, we came together across the village to mark VE Day and reflect on such an important moment in history 🇬🇧

In Whitley household, Marjorie shared her memories of VE Day, sparking conversations and reflections amongst fellow residents, with others opening up about their own experiences and stories from that time. It was incredibly special to hear these firsthand accounts and remember together.

Across our households, there were buffets and celebrations, bringing everyone together in true community spirit 🎉

This afternoon, we gathered in the venue for a VE Day documentary, followed by a lovely sing-along and afternoon tea, such a warm and uplifting way to honour the occasion.

A special mention also to Pat from Cunningham household, who shared her memories and helped bring the history of VE Day to life for us all 💙

🎈 Happy Birthday Sheila 🎈

Today it’s Sheila’s birthday! The household went out of their way to throw a beautiful party for her, along with all of her friends 🥹

This afternoon, Sheila took a trip to the new cafe at Cheshire Dogs home where she enjoyed carrot cake, coffee and a walk round to see some happy dogs! 🐶

We had such a special day yesterday that we just had to share 💛

Margo from our admin team is a big fan of motorbike racing, and it turns out, so is our Greenall resident, Phil! As Phil’s confidence in getting out and about continues to grow, Margo reached out to Oulton Park to see if they might be able to help make a day out happen… and they very kindly gifted us some tickets 🎟️

So off they went, Phil, Margo, and Hazel, for a day at the races! 🏍️

The kindness didn’t stop there. A lovely lady called Chelsea went out of her way to buy Phil a picture to remember the day, which was then signed by none other than the current British Superbike Champion, Kyle Ryde 🙌

Phil also got to meet:

• Glen Irwin, professional superbike rider
• Blaze Baker, who races in the Superstock class

Moments like this mean so much, not just for the experience itself, but for the confidence, joy, and connection they bring. A huge thank you to everyone who made Phil’s day so memorable 💙

They were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Dad was incredibly looked after as one of their own. Unfortunately dad had to go into a care home.
We as a family can't thank the staff enough, they went above & beyond in looking after dad. They were polite, courteous, attentive & appreciated dad's needs at all times. Our Cunningham residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon in the garden, making the most of the beautiful summer sunshine 🌿☀️

There was a real buzz as everyone got involved in potting and repotting their plants, taking time to nurture and care for each one. Among the greenery was a lovely courgette plant, which we’re all excited to watch grow over the coming weeks! 🌱

Gardening is such a wonderful way to relax, connect, and enjoy the outdoors, and it was clear just how much everyone appreciated the fresh air, the sunshine, and each other’s company. Moments like these are what make our days so special 💚

🪴 Gnomes Glow up ✨

As the summer approaches, we’re redesigning our outdoor spaces ready to make the most of the sun (that will hopefully show its face a bit longer this year!)

Our poor gnomes have felt the brunt of the winter weather so we recruited some special helpers today to get them looking their summer best! 😍

A few more coats of paint and they’ll be ready to hit the venue terrace! Thank you to the Greenall girls for helping us out this afternoon! 🥳

🐟 Fish Fridays! 🐟

Some traditions never go out of style!

Here at Belong, we love keeping those familiar routines alive and for many, nothing says Friday quite like fish and chips. John, who lives on our Whitley household, headed down to the Bistro this week to pick up our fresh, signature fish and chips to take back and enjoy, keeping that much-loved Friday tradition going 😋

A big thank you to Beth for accompanying John and making the trip down such a lovely experience. It’s moments like these that remind us that life carries on as normal, with the little things making the biggest difference 💙

Don’t forget, our Bistro serves up delicious fish and chips every Friday, everyone is welcome! 🤗
