Meet Jimmy!

Jimmy is one of our amazing volunteer ride leaders at Pedal Away in Knowsley and this week he celebrated a huge milestone birthday - turning 80! 🎂🎉

We would like to wish Jimmy a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY on this very special occasion and as you can see from the video we were thrilled to be able to surprise him with some cake and a card on his ride this week!

Here's to many more years of cycling! 🥂

"Bikes are good and great" - we couldn't agree more! 😄

Now that the summer holidays have started we said a short goodbye to the children at Woodland School in Leatherhead, Surrey, but not before they brought us this lovely card and poem to say thank you to the team at the Hub!

It's always amazing to know that the people who attend our sessions love to cycle and experience the joy that an adapted cycle can bring. We are very grateful to have been able to be a small part of the Elmwood Class' school year and hope that they will be able to spend all summer out and about on a bike with newfound confidence 🚲

We'll see you all in September! ❤️

We were excited to welcome James and Jon from Fenwick's Bike Products to Warrington Wheels for All last Friday where they were able to see for themselves the positive impact that inclusive cycling has on local communities across the country 🚲❤️

Fenwick's have a long history of providing high quality cycle maintenance products within the industry and as you can see both James and Jon were keen to see how the cycles worked as well as test them out for themselves.

We loved having the duo over to Warrington and we're excited to be working on a very special partnership with them in the future. Thanks to both James and Jon for all of their enthusiasm and coming along to the session - you're both welcome back any time! 🙌

Meet Ian! 😄

For his 60th birthday, Ian – one of the friendliest faces at our Wheels for All Halewood Hub – took on a triathlon to raise funds for Stephens House, a local support service he’s been part of for over 40 years ❤️

With a swim, a walk, and of course a ride with us, Ian raised over £1,000 – and filled the team with pride (and smiles!) along the way 🚲😄

Wow! We don't think we've ever seen so many helmets in one place! 😮

A huge THANK YOU to the team at TARMAC for this very generous donation of 100 HELMETS to our Knowsley Hubs, pictured here with JP from Wheels for All and Karen and Tom from TARMAC! 🚲

Following a brilliant corporate volunteer day at our Court Hey Park Hub earlier this year, their support has gone even further — helping us replenish helmet stock across all four hubs in the region and pledging future volunteer days too! 🎉

We were excited to have attended this years Gorton Carnival over the weekend which took place at Debdale Park, the same location we hold our cycling sessions in the area 🎉🚲

The day was filled with lots of wonderful conversations with the local community and we were thrilled to welcome Mark, also known as Dr Bike, to work alongside us where he was able to fix a whopping 15 bikes and cycles! 🚲

For those not in the know, Dr Bike is a mobile bicycle mechanic service with all the specialist equipment and parts needed to repair and maintain your bike! Mark can perform simple repairs on punctures, gears and brakes, carry out standard servicing or even a full re-build.

A huge thank you to Mark for joining us for the day and a big thank you to everyone who cam along to see what inclusive cycling in Greater Manchester is all about! ❤️

With the summer weather in full effect we were thrilled to welcome the team from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Active Travel who came down and got well and truly stuck in at Wheels for All in Birkenhead Park as part of their corporate volunteering initiative ☀️🚲

It was a great day filled with lots of smiling faces, which is always so lovely to see. Support like this is always so amazing to have and we were so grateful to all of the team for their enthusiasm and teamwork - we've already had an email back asking when they can come again!

Thank you again to everyone who came along and we will hopefully see you in the near future! 🙌

We're pleased to welcome a brand new partner Hub to the Wheels for All network - say hello to Cycles4All at Pavilion on the Park 🚲🌻

First launched in 2011 and based in Eastleigh, Hampshire, the aim of Cycles4All is to get people of all abilities out in the fresh air and to enjoy the great outdoors on a set of wheels that suits them 🙌

Cycles4All hangar boasts an impressive fleet of specialist cycles, including hand cycles, tandems, trikes, wheelchair-accessible bikes, recumbents, power-assisted cycles and two-wheeled bikes – all available for public use at an affordable fee, five days a week!

We're thrilled to welcome the team to the Wheels for All network and can't wait to see how our partnership will continue to deliver inclusive cycling in Hampshire! ❤️

Look who came to see us at Wheels for All Salford! 🚲

We were thrilled to welcome cycling legend, James Ball to our session last week. After meeting James at an event earlier this year he was invited to one of our Hubs to experience the work that we are doing for disabled people within communities across the country - and he took us up on the offer by visiting our Salford Hub!

James, who hails from Wales, is a Paralympic and multiple world champion cyclist who competes in tandem sprint events. His most recent win includes a bringing home a gold medal from the Tokyo Paralympics and a silver from the UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships, so it was great that he could come down and visit us for the day... and who knows, maybe he met a future Paralympian! 🏅
