I am proud to share that I have been invited to return as a judge for the Aesthetic Medicine Awards 2026, marking my third year on the judging panel.

The Aesthetic Medicine Awards recognise excellence across the industry, celebrating clinics, practitioners and innovations that demonstrate the highest standards in patient care and aesthetic medicine.

This year, I will be judging two categories:
• Aesthetic Therapist of the Year
• Aesthetic Clinic of the Year – Scotland & Ireland

The second round of judging, where the finalists are selected, will take place over the coming month, ahead of the awards ceremony at Olympia London on 8 May 2026.

It’s such an honour to be involved in recognising the exceptional talent and dedication within the aesthetic industry.

We usually recommend a course of four microneedling treatments....and there’s a clinical reason for that ⬇️

Each session creates controlled micro-stimulation in the skin, triggering a repair response and new collagen production. But collagen doesn’t appear overnight. It builds gradually over weeks, with each treatment encouraging the skin to strengthen, remodel and improve in texture and quality.

After your first session, the skin begins the repair process.

By the second and third, collagen production is building and structure starts to improve.

By the fourth, we’re seeing more consistent changes in firmness, texture and overall skin quality.

Spacing treatments allows the skin time to heal, respond and rebuild properly. A course approach gives us cumulative results rather than temporary improvement from a single session.

Let’s talk acne scarring + medical microneedling ➡️

For deeper or more textured scarring, we often lean towards radio-frequency microneedling. It works at a deeper level within the skin and delivers stronger collagen stimulation, which can help remodel scar tissue and improve overall skin structure over time.

It’s typically the more intensive option and sits at a higher price point, but it’s chosen when we need more corrective change.

For milder scarring, post-acne marks or skins that are more sensitive or reactive, microneedling with regenerative exosomes can be a great option.

This approach focuses on repair, healing and collagen support while improving tone and texture more gently. It’s usually a slightly lower budget option and suits clients earlier in their treatment journey.

Both treatments have a place; it’s not about one being “better”, but about what your skin needs and what feels realistic for your budget.

At SkinGenius Clinic, benign moles and skin lesions can be reduced/removed using Sterex electrocautery; a precise, medical-grade method used in clinical environments.

It always starts with an assessment.

We first take a look at the lesion to make sure it’s suitable for cosmetic removal. If anything needs further review, we’ll always let you know and guide you on next steps. Safety comes first.

🔍 During treatment
We then use a very fine Sterex probe that delivers a controlled electrical current directly to the lesion. This allows us to treat it carefully, layer by layer, while protecting the surrounding skin.

🔍 Afterwards
Most lesions form a small surface scab as they heal. Downtime is usually minimal, and we’ll talk you through simple aftercare so the area heals as smoothly as possible.

Sterex is used because it allows for precision, control, and a clinical approach, without the need for cutting or stitches in suitable cases.
