After 5 incredible years, I’ve made the decision to close this chapter of Best of You 💜

This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it’s one that feels right for where I am now.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting so many amazing women, and I’m so proud of what we’ve built together.

Best of You has never been “just” about weight loss — it’s been about changing how we think about food, our bodies, and our health. And that will always matter to me.

Right now, I’m ready to take some time to focus on my next step, including further study and developing myself professionally.

This is the end of this chapter… but it’s definitely not the end of the story.

Thank you for being part of it and making it all possible 💜

A visit to the Stolen Lamb Knutsford yesterday. I've been wanting to go there for ages!

Gorgeous inside reminds me of all the courtyard restaurants we visited in Crete. Lovely atmosphere, really friendly staff.

We ordered Ocean Kalathi (calamari, whitebait & prawns) and Tomato Keftedes (tomato & white bean fritters) to start, followed by Seafood Yoiuvetsi (seabass and Greek Orzo) and Kleftiko (signature Stolen Lamb dish, slow cooked lamb)

Will definitely be making lots of trips back!

Yesterday in group we talked about emotional eating.

One woman said, “I didn’t realise I eat when I’m overwhelmed.”

Another said, “I thought I was the only one.”

There was no judgement. No eye rolling. No comparison.

Just nodding, understanding and people saying "me too".

And then we discussed practical strategies to try this week.

We ended by sharing experience and even started to giggle about some of them.

That’s what happens in Best of You.
Real conversations. Real women. Real solutions.

After 23 years in weight management, I’ve seen every trend.

Low fat. Low carb. Juices. Shakes. Points. Syns.

And I’ve never met a woman who failed because she wasn’t trying hard enough.

Most were: Over-restricting. Under-eating. Emotionally exhausted. Ashamed.

That’s why I built Best of You.

Not to make women smaller. But to make them stronger.

Nutrition knowledge. CBT insight. Behavioural change. Counselling understanding. And compassion.

We do this differently here.
If you’re ready for different, come and try a session.

Why does weight loss feel harder after 45?

Because:
• We lose muscle (which lowers metabolic rate)
• Oestrogen changes impact fat storage
• Stress affects cortisol and appetite
• Years of dieting slow adaptation

🚫The answer isn’t: Eat less.

It’s:
✅️ Protect muscle.
✅️ Balance blood sugar.
✅️ Eat enough protein.
✅️ Strength train.
✅️ Stop crash dieting.

Midlife needs a smarter approach.
That’s exactly what we focus on in Best of You.

People hear “120g of protein” and think it sounds impossible.

But it’s really just:
• everyday real food
• decent portions
• nothing fancy
• and you don’t have to rely on protein enhanced foods and protein shakes if you don't want to

Here's how I get 120g of protein.

Eating this way helps my energy feel steadier and stops that constant “snacky” feeling.

It’s not dieting — it’s learning how to build meals that support you.

What 120g of protein actually looks like 👀

Not shakes.
Not extremes.

Just normal food eaten in a way that actually keeps me full.

When I eat like this, I feel more in control of my appetite and have way fewer cravings — which makes everything feel easier.

This is the kind of real-life eating we focus on inside Best of You 💜

This is how I eat most days.

Nothing perfect.
Nothing extreme.

Just simple meals with enough protein to keep me satisfied and steady.

120g of protein within a 1400 calorie allowance.

Inside Best of You, I show women how to do this in a real-life way — without overthinking or cutting everything out.

Because eating well shouldn’t feel hard 💜

If emotional eating was solved by willpower… you’d have fixed it years ago.

You’ve tried:
• being “good”
• stricter rules
• cutting foods out
• starting again on Monday
And yet the urge to eat when you’re stressed, tired or overwhelmed still shows up.

That’s because emotional eating isn’t a food problem.

It’s a stress, emotion and nervous system problem.

When life feels too much, your body looks for relief.
Food just happens to be fast, familiar and comforting.

So no — you don’t need more discipline.
You need understanding.
You need tools.
You need support that meets you where you are.

At Best of You, we help women stop blaming themselves and start responding to their needs with kindness.

Because comfort doesn’t fix frustration.
Food doesn’t fix stress.
And shame never fixed anything.

If this resonates, you’re exactly the kind of woman I support 💜

This week’s topic shows exactly how Best of You is different to so much weight-loss support out there.

In all my years helping people lose weight, I’ve never worked with anyone where it simply came down to a lack of willpower.

It’s almost always more complicated than that.

Emotional eating is one of those complications — and it’s something so many women quietly struggle with.

Counting calories (or points, or syns) doesn’t help when food is being used to cope with stress, overwhelm, loneliness or exhaustion.
In fact, rules and restrictions often make it worse — reinforcing the idea that you’re failing when really, you’re just trying to cope.

Instead of more rules, what’s usually needed is compassion and understanding.
Someone to help you understand why those urges show up, and to gently explore strategies that support you in that moment, rather than judging it afterwards.

That’s why our sessions are about so much more than comparing calories in foods.

They’re about understanding yourself better.
Learning new ways to respond to emotions.
And realising you’re not broken — you just need the right kind of support.

💜 If emotional eating has been part of your story, you’re very welcome at Best of You.

Do you ever eat when you’re not hungry… then feel ashamed afterwards?

Late evenings.
Stressful days.
Standing in the kitchen wondering “What’s wrong with me?”

Here’s the truth:
You’re not the only one. And you’re not broken.

Emotional eating isn’t a lack of willpower.
It’s a coping strategy.

Food soothes.
It comforts.
It helps when life feels heavy.

The problem isn’t eating emotionally —
it’s being made to feel ashamed instead of supported.

At Best of You, there’s no judgement.
Just understanding, compassion, and real support.

You don’t have to figure this out on your own 💜
