Just Eat Better đŸ€ŠđŸŒâ€â™‚ïž

I was chatting to a lady last night who’s old trainer told her to just eat better

Yes I know, she should but do you not think she knows that already

It’s like saying just train in the gym and lift weights

She knows but it’s not that easy

Just eat better and move works in paper, but people need some then this from a coach

We all know what we should be doing to get healthy

Yet the country is on its ass when it comes to health from us adults and even down to our kids

The unhealthy habits are imbedded

They’re apart of the foundations

And just saying eat better isn’t being supportive

It’s being a lazy coach really

You can’t expect everyone to just do it

Not all the same methods work for everyone

And coaching is about finding what works best for that person in front of you, the one who’s asking for help

Things won’t always go to plan on your fitness journey, especially around your nutrition

We got the Xmas decorations down on the weekend to see what we had and what we needed for the new house

The tree was already destroyed from last year to be honest but Maggie was straight in there to make sure anyway 😂

I worked with hundreds a of clients who wanted to lose weight, drop some body fat and finally get healthy

But that doesn’t mean everyone else around them has the same idea or plans

Temptations are everywhere as this month is full of them

Night outs
Chocolates
Festive hot chocolates

And you don’t have to avoid them all 100%

Nutrition Shouldn’t Change Much Over Xmas

If you’re not doing a daft diet or have disordered eating that is

Yes you will likely have abit more chocolate, more alcohol than a normal week

But it doesn’t have to be so far away from your normal nutrition that you feel the need to binge and over consume everything in sight because you’ve spent the last months restricting yourself

I’m not saying just go crazy and gain as much weight as possible because it’s only once per year

But you can still enjoy it and control what you can to cover the basics we all need

The 3 by 3 method I teach will be used by clients over the holidays because it’s simple and it doesn’t restrict anything

It’s not a method which only applies when trying to lose weight

It’s a lifestyle change that I use and why I spend the full year not gaining loads of weight yet I don’t count calories, I don’t avoid any foods and I don’t train everyday

I’m a busy parent who has responsibilities that need my time a lot more than spending hours in the gym 6-7 times per week or stressing because I’m going for a meal out or don’t know the exact calories of a seasoning đŸ€ŠđŸŒâ€â™‚ïž

It’s Our Responsibility As Parents

Our health journey isn’t just about us when you have kids

Most of us didn’t grow up learning about nutrition, balance, or healthy habits

We learned restriction, guilt, bingeing, “good vs bad foods”, skipping meals and an unhealthy relationship with the scales

And a lot of us are now undoing those behaviours in our 30s and 40s, or at least trying

And most never being able to overcome them 😱

Our kids are watching everything

How we speak about our bodies

How we eat when we’re stressed, tired, or emotional

They don’t need perfect parents

They need role models, even if you’re just learning and trying your best

Teaching them that food fuels their body

That ‘treats’ are part of life, not something to fear or sneak

That movement is about feeling good, not punishment

That looking after yourself is normal, not selfish.

We can’t change how we were brought up

But we can break the cycle for them

Healthy habits don’t start in schools or later in life

They start at home

And that starts with us. 👊

Temptations Are Everywhere

Fat Loss Goals In Mind?

Yeah temptations are going to be something you face on a weekly, if not daily thing

I’ve spoke to one my clients today who’s new to the program and this is something she’s currently struggling with

For most, this time of year is one that sees more temptations than ever

We had a call and looked over her last few days of food, snacks and used the 3 By 3 method to come up with a solution to help

It’s not going to make the temptations away, but it helps her to manage the situations she’s currently facing to give her a better chance of staying on track with her goals and not overindulging everyday like she did in the past

Temptations will come from your friends, family, work colleagues and it’s important you have a chat with them if needed and tell them your struggles and how you need their support

Jones and myself talk about ours around food when needed and we try our best to help each other

I can easily fall into buying too many snacks which then puts the temptations in our house and when you’re trying to not overindulge, these don’t help

Snacks Are Ok When Losing Fat

I remember working with this guy and he smashed it

Dad, business, family and his own health got pushed down the priority list

Great swimmer and athlete, but life got in the way

We never took any snacks away (I’m sure if I remember right, it was ice lollies he was into)

But we didn’t take anything away

We just planned it in

We progressed his training to help

But the main struggles and main results came when we got a grip of his nutrition, behaviours around food and his daily habits

This is what I teach in the Reset Method đŸ”„

The Dad Bod

This is one of things which can look very different but we all kind of know what you mean when you say dad bod

I’ve worked with a lot of dads over the 13 years doing this and most will say I don’t want a pack or be like massive, but I just want to lose this


Then point or grab the stomach

Maybe build these a little

As they point or grab the chest area

And yes you’re going to need to lift weights to build or at least keep the muscle mass you’ve got đŸ’Ș

But most of it is coming from your daily habits and nutrition to create a deficit for your fat loss đŸ”„

And this takes time

It takes effort

And patience

Most dads don’t want to join their partner on slimming world or have lettuce instead of bread for the butties in work

And you don’t have to

If you’re struggling and you’ve lost your way with your health and body fat over the years

You’re in the back end of your 30s or maybe gone past this

You’re not too old

But you better start soon as it’s not getting easier
