If you’re training hard or just feeling the effects of a busy lifestyle, regular sports massages can be a total game changer!

Here’s why they’re worth it:
✨ Improve circulation, helping your muscles recover faster
✨ Reduce soreness and stiffness so you can stay active and pain free
✨ Prevent injuries, by keeping muscles flexible and balanced
✨ Boost performance, because well maintained muscles work better
✨ Relieve stress. It’s not just physical, it helps your mind too

But here’s the key
One off treatments feel great… but regular sessions are where the real benefits happen.

✔️ Builds long term muscle health instead of quick fixes
✔️ Catches tightness and imbalances before they turn into injuries
✔️ Keeps your body consistently performing at its best
✔️ Reduces recovery time over weeks, not just days
✔️ Helps maintain mobility and flexibility over time

Think of it like training or going to the gym, you wouldn’t expect results from just one session.

Look after your body consistently, and it will look after you 🙌

Brazilian lymphatic drainage Vs Lymphatic drainage…

What’s the difference?
Firstly they both target the lymphatic system for a full body treatment.
Here at Sport & Wellbeing Massage Room, we do not offer ‘one area’ for lymphatic drainage. This is because for a full effective treatment no matter your desired goal or outcome we have to open and drain the full system.

So Brazilian lymphatic drainage has more focus on the stomach and gut. Suffer with bloating, gut issues, constipation? This is the one to go for as we include deep specialised gut manoeuvres to assist with these issues. This is also the treatment you want if you’re after that ‘sculpting’ effect perfect pre events or holidays etc.

MLD the techniques during this treatment can vary depending on individual needs. For example if you suffer with Lipoedema, lymphoedema, generalised swelling, post-operative, pregnancy or just want to support your lymphatic health this is the one to book.

Why do we stress the importance of drinking water following treatments?

During massage treatments, soft tissue work helps release muscle tension, improve circulation, and stimulates the lymphatic system; Especially so if doing lymphatic drainage massage. This process moves fluids through the body and can bring metabolic waste products from the tissues into circulation.

Drinking water after treatment helps your body:
💦 Support the lymphatic system in clearing waste
💦 Rehydrate muscles and connective tissue
💦 Reduce post-massage soreness or fatigue
💦 Maintain healthy circulation and recovery
Massage also encourages the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) to become more mobile and hydrated. Without enough water, tissues can quickly return to feeling tight and restricted.

Simple rule: After your massage, drink water regularly throughout the rest of the day rather than all at once, plus the following day.

If you see me running straight out of the gym, mind your business 🤣
In all seriousness please stretch! Especially if you train a lot. It’s going to improve day to day life, and improve your training.
Do as I say, not as I do 🙈

I believe having multiple treatments under your belt that all compliment each other is going to give clients the best outcome for their health and healing.
For example having a healthy lymphatic system is key, but likewise Myofascial release compliments this so lymph can flow freely.
Acupuncture can get to the root cause of issues with other treatments along the way to help with other symptoms IF needed.
As I said your body is a network and system being able to offer multiple treatment options to clients, gives them the best chance of dealing with their issues.

Did you know your fascia plays a major role in your lymphatic system?

Fascia isn’t just a ‘webbing’ around muscles, it’s a dynamic, network of connective tissue that supports movement, circulation, and fluid flow. Your lymphatic system relies on body movement and tissue pressure to move lymph.

When fascia is:
✨ Hydrated & mobile → lymph flows more freely
⚠️ Tight & restricted → fluid can stagnate
Healthy fascia helps:
✔ Waste & toxin removal
✔ Immune function
✔ Reduced swelling & inflammation
✔ Better recovery
Ways to support it:
💧 Stay hydrated
🤸‍♀️ Move daily (walking, stretching, bouncing)
👐 Try myofascial release & lymphatic drainage massage
🌬 Deep breathing
Take care of your fascia, and you’re also taking care of your immune health 💚

Introducing MYOFASCIAL RELEASE…

What is Myofascial Release?
Think of your body like it’s wrapped in a stretchy web called fascia. This web supports your muscles, joints and organs. When it’s healthy, everything moves smoothly.
However stress, injury, poor posture, or overuse can cause that web to tighten and stick, which can lead to pain, stiffness, or limited movement.

Myofascial release is a gentle, technique that helps loosen those tight areas. By applying slow, sustained pressure, it allows the fascia to soften and release, helping your body move and feel better.
✨Less tension
✨More mobility
✨A deep sense of relief

Can be booked as a standalone treatment or an add on, pre-sports massage for even more effective treatment.
