Endometriosis awareness month takes place through March. Endometriosis Awareness Month is a global movement dedicated to increasing recognition of endometriosis, promoting earlier diagnosis, and improving access to appropriate care. Endometriosis UK reports 54% of people (increasing to 74% of men) do not know about endometriosis even though it affects around 1.5million women in the UK.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the body — commonly around the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder or bowel.

Symptoms can include:
-Severe period pain that stops you from doing normal activities
-Heavy periods
-Pelvic pain outside of your period
-Pain during or after s*x
-Pain when going to the toilet
-Difficulty getting pregnant
-Fatigue and low mood

If you are concerned you have endometriosis or need support for your endometriosis, please get in touch.

🌟 Could you foster for Warwickshire?
Warwickshire urgently needs foster carers to provide safe, loving homes for children who can’t live with their birth families. Carers say it can be challenging, but seeing the difference they make is truly life‑changing.
By fostering locally, you help children stay near their school, friends and community—giving them vital stability. There is a range of fostering options, from short‑term and long‑term care to flexible, emergency and specialist salaried schemes.
Interested in making a real impact? 💛

Avonside Patient Participation Group (PPG) have recently launched a new project. They have been contacting patients who have not been seen in over two years to see if they need any help or support so they can be signposted or further information provided.

Initially, patients over the age of 65 have been contacted first if they have not attended a GP appointment in the last two years. We are hoping to expand this cohort in the near future.

If you would like to get involved and join the PPG, please fill out the form on our website - https://avonsidehealthcentre.nhs.uk/patient-group/
