I know, again!
But this time I am actually leaving my home for fun things! Yes, we were meant to be going to Fuerteventura and no, we're no longer doing that 😭 (long story but Jet2 will be getting a very long complaint email from me when they get back.)

But we thankfully have managed to book a mini break in the UK so we are all going to hopefully switch off, enjoy the bougie hot tub and sauna at our holiday home and tell the whole world just to be quiet for a moment - something very much needed for all our family at the moment! Alfie definitely won't be quiet but hey ho, we might get a few minutes peace!

I will be back next week with hopefully a spring in my step, ready to prepare for our Clutter Free Christmas Challenge, working with some fab clients old and new and for a house move 😮!

If anyone wants to learn how to be more sustainable with your clothing choices then ECO for ALL will be able to teach you all to know.

I'm on her sustainability programme and I've learnt so much.

This is one of my favourite quotes.

In our world where consumption is at unsustainable levels rethinking our habits is crucial.

➡️Reducing the amount of 'stuff' we buy is a simple place to start.

➡️Reusing and repurposing doesn't take much imagination (and Pinterest can help if you're stuck)

➡️Repairing is easier than ever due to the ever growing chain of Repair Café UK across the country.

➡️Rebuilt and repurposed tech is available from the likes of Back Market or CeX amongst others.

➡️And as for compostable - home compostable is preferable as long as you do actually put the item in the compost.

➡️Recycling is only preferable over landfill - but check on your local council app to avoid wishcycling!

Redesigning is critical for anything that doesn't fit the above criteria.

This can also mean designing a different business model. In the crazy world of fashion, the statistics of over production and over consumption are staggering.

In the case of Rapanui - this has been addressed at every stage. Their clothing is manufactured using renewable energy, their clothing is made to order to avoid waste and they even take their garments back once you're done.

Avoiding unnecessary waste, in a world of 8 billion people is a big step in the right direction.

Buying better is possible and more widely available than you realise.

High street brand FatFace carefully select the fabrics they use, such as Tenzel and Lenzig Ecovero (made from wood pulp sourced from responsibly managed forests)

Do you have spaces in your house which just don't have a purpose?

Or maybe they have too many purposes and you don't know how to make all of them work in one space?

Or maybe you used to use a room one way but now it's not working as your children have got older or your work/life has changed?

This was the epiphany my client had this week after a few sessions together and I loved seeing the lightbulb go on in her head and her excitement for making it a reality!

Well it's not the worst way to finish a Friday (I'm working tomorrow so not really the end of the week for me!)

As much as I love being fully booked with wonderful clients, getting the admin, the finances and having any time for my monthly strategy meeting proves difficult. So getting out of the house to co-work with Dale and get everything in order and set up for the next month is a treat we try and make time for.

The fact that it's usually at and we get a free pint at the end of the day is an extra bonus!

I absoutely loved helping Holly declutter and organise her loft. Here's what she said about the experience!

"Every year we say "we must clear the loft' and every year we avoid it!

This year, with the help of Katie over two weekends, we cleared it all out, decluttered, organised (I had a company board the loft) and then she came back and helped us put what was left back up and organised/labelled.

She does this with a gentle guidance and support (never judgement) and the magic sauce... she actually takes away the recycling, charity donations etc so they are not cluttering the house (about 4 car loads!).

Katie is slowly but surely helping us declutter the whole house (Garage, Utility and Kitchen first, then the loft).. who knows where is next! HIGHLY Recommend - in fact I recommend her to everyone and I paid extra. She is worth her weight in gold."

I have had such an amazing day at the awards

I was invited to come with my amazing tribe but I didn't know what to expect so was a bit apprehensive. I definitely shouldn't have been though as the energy in the rooms was just electric. Over 200 women in business supporting one another, finding out about one another and learning from one another.

I must admit I hadn't seen the itinerary before I arrived but to hear so many amazing speakers and to be so inspired by everyone has been such a joy. I've followed and on socials for a long time so to hear them speak was a treat.

My head is buzzing and after instruction by the bloody lovely I may just have a crack at entering myself next year! 😬
