Do you have Hayfever a cold or Covid? Here’s a great guild.

As pollen levels rise and sniffles set in, it can be hard to tell what's behind the runny nose and fatigue - is Covid, the flu or hay fever to blame?

With COVID cases more than doubling this year and symptoms often overlapping with hay fever, understanding the difference helps to ensure you are accessing the right care and advice.

Use our handy guide to help you identify symptoms and behaviours which are more consistent with hay fever; if in doubt always speak to a healthcare professional for advice and diagnosis.

Your Health is a Team Effort – Not a 10-Minute Fix!

GPs aren’t magicians, wizards, or miracle workers— just as hairdressers can’t make my hair grow thicker, curlier or straighter, and beauticians can’t turn me into a super model. GP’s do an incredible job, but with just 10 minutes per appointment, we can’t expect them to fix everything instantly. If only it were that simple!

This is where nutritional therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, health coaches, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, and personal trainers (to name just a few!) come in. Health isn’t just about treating symptoms—it’s about long-term care and prevention.

We need to take responsibility for our own well-being:
🍏 Nutrition to fuel our bodies
🏋️ Exercise to keep us strong
😴 Sleep to restore energy
🧘‍♀️ Rest & relaxation for mental balance

There’s no magic pill for good health—it takes commitment, consistency, and the right support. Are you ready to put in the work? 💪✨

🌼 I’m not a massive fan of Mother’s Day for a few reasons (that’s a story for another time). Which is just as well as my son (teenager) asked me to take him shopping last night at 5.30 to go and get me a gift. No I didn’t take him shopping!

Honestly, all I needed was a small gesture, as far as I am concerned he could run down to the village shop and buy me a Freddo 🍫mini chocolate bar. As it’s nice to be acknowledged for the things we do as mothers, even in the simplest ways.

Anyway he wasn’t feeling 100% today and suggested we go out for lunch. I did explain it is Mother’s Day and everyone will be out for lunch and getting a table would be pretty impossible. However he picked up the phone and started calling around to see if he could find us a table. That’s what I’m most proud of. He tried. It’s a given it’s a bit late, but he gave it ago.

So we’ve popped down to the supermarket for some bits for lunch which I hope we can make together and he brought me some flowers. 🌷🌷🌷

It’s also the time we spend together that I’m most grateful for.

Do you often feel bloated, sluggish, or uncomfortable after eating? You’re not alone! Food intolerances can sneak up hours later, causing symptoms like gas, nausea, and digestive issues—making it tough to pinpoint the culprit. Unlike allergies, intolerances don’t trigger an immediate immune response, but they can seriously impact your well-being.

Understanding which foods your body struggles with is the first step toward feeling better. Could your diet be affecting your health? Let’s dive into the most common food intolerances and what to watch for.
