Myth: “You need to be flexible to do Pilates.”

Truth: You don’t need to touch your toes, do the splits, or twist like a pretzel 🥨 to enjoy Pilates — whether it’s on the mat or the reformer.

Both mat and reformer Pilates are designed for every body — all ages, all shapes, all fitness levels. The focus isn’t on being bendy, it’s on building strength, control, and mobility in a way that suits you.

The beauty? Every move can be adapted. On the mat, we use props to support or challenge you. On the reformer, springs adjust the resistance so you can start gently and progress at your own pace.

As we approach the final weeks of the school holidays, many parents/grandparents and guardians are experiencing increased physical and mental fatigue — especially if routines have been disrupted and movement has taken a back seat.

Our physiotherapy team at Humanity Warwick recommend five simple, effective stretches to help reduce tension, improve mobility, and support overall wellbeing during this busy period:

✅ Cat-Cow (on all fours)
A gentle spinal mobility exercise that encourages breath-led movement and nervous system regulation.

✅ Standing Hamstring
Helps release tightness through the lower back and legs, particularly after prolonged sitting or driving.

✅ Chest Opener
Counteracts rounded shoulders and forward head posture — common after long days spent carrying children or working from less-than-ideal setups.

✅ Standing Side Stretch
Promotes rib mobility and deeper breathing, ideal for reducing physical and emotional tension.

✅ Child’s Pose
Offers decompression for the spine and a moment of rest, supported by props to allow full relaxation.

To help you get the most out of your practice, we’ve introduced class levels from 1st August.
This way, you can move confidently — knowing you’re exactly where your body needs to be.

✨ Beginner
Perfect if you’re new to Reformer, recovering from injury, pregnant, or simply want to focus on core strength and technique. Gentle pace, extra guidance.
✨ Level 1/2
A dynamic blend of strength and stability. Great if you’ve got some Reformer experience, or beginners feeling ready to take the next step.
✨ Level 2
A more energetic workout for building strength and control. Best for those confident with the machine and fundamentals.
✨ Level 2/3
Advanced flow for experienced movers — challenging strength, flexibility and whole-body awareness.

✅ Is passionate about rehabilitation, restorative exercise and strength & conditioning
✅ Loves collaborating with physiotherapists & health professionals to deliver holistic care
