As the year comes to a close, it’s a wonderful opportunity to slow down and spend some quality time with the children in your life. The transition into a new year isn’t just about parties or resolutions, it’s a chance for children to pause, reflect, and celebrate all they’ve achieved over the past 12 months.

Here are some simple ways to support children with reflection and goal-setting this New Year’s Eve:

1️⃣ Look back on the year - talk about moments they’re proud of and lessons they have learned.
2️⃣ Celebrate achievements - highlight small wins and acts of kindness.
3️⃣ Set simple goals - encourage achievable goals like trying a new hobby or spending more time with family.
4️⃣ Family connection - use this time to share thoughts, feelings, and hopes for the new year together.

Here’s to a joyful, hopeful, and growth-filled New Year for all our little ones!

Are you planning a family holiday abroad this summer? Don’t forget about travel vaccinations!

Different countries may require extra vaccines to protect your child against illnesses like hepatitis A, typhoid, or yellow fever.

Before you travel, make sure you:

✅ Check destination-specific vaccine advice
✅ Book vaccinations at your GP surgery at least 6–8 weeks before you go
✅ Keep your child’s routine UK immunisations up to date

Travel vaccines aren’t always included in the NHS schedule, so planning ahead is key 💉

Winter weather can be harsh on a baby’s delicate skin. Cold air, wind, and dry indoor heating can all cause dryness or irritation.

Here are some tips on how to keep your little one comfortable and protected:

✨ Moisturise regularly with a gentle, fragrance‑free cream or emollient, especially on exposed areas like cheeks and hands
✨ Limit exposure to cold and wind - try to keep outings short or cover exposed skin with hats, scarves, and mittens
✨ Dress in layers so your baby can stay warm without overheating; soft fabrics next to the skin and a warm outer layer work best
✨ After baths, gently pat your baby dry and apply moisturiser while skin is still slightly damp to lock in moisture
