We want to be able to care for the people that need it most, and therefore we are urging the public to consider which services are most appropriate for their needs.

The Minor Injuries Unit at Stratford Hospital is open today between 9am - 4pm, and can treat sprains and strains, broken bones, wound infections, minor burns and scalds, minor head injuries, insect and animal bites, minor eye injuries, and injuries to the back, shoulder, and chest.

By choosing the right service, it means you can get the care you need quicker - please use NHS 111 online as the first port of call and continue to only use 999 if it is a life-threatening emergency only.

A reminder that we are running a cervical screening drop-in this Saturday morning at Waterside Medical Centre between 8:30am and 12:30pm.

If you're due your smear test but haven't got round to it yet, pop in for potentially life-saving screening without an appointment.

The NHS Cervical Screening Programme saves approximately 5,000 lives every year in the UK by identifying high-risk HPV and detecting early cell changes before they develop into cancer. This vital programme has contributed to a reduction in cervical cancer deaths by over 70% since the 1970s.
