2 April marks World Autism Awareness Day, a day dedicated to promoting understanding, acceptance and inclusion for autistic individuals and their families.

Many autistic children can benefit from physiotherapy support, particularly when it comes to developing movement skills, coordination, strength and confidence in physical activity.

Children’s physiotherapy can help by supporting:

• Motor skill development
• Balance and coordination
• Strength and posture
• Body awareness and movement confidence
• Participation in everyday play and physical activities

At Shires Physio, our children’s physiotherapy service works closely with families to create personalised, supportive programmes that help each child develop their abilities in a way that works best for them.

Today we recognise the importance of inclusive healthcare, understanding and acceptance for every child.
