Most men who come to me with a serious diagnosis had at least one of these symptoms months before they walked through the door.

They noticed something was off. A change that had been there long enough to become normal. And they did nothing, because it did not feel urgent enough, because life got in the way, or because they were quietly hoping it would sort itself out.

I made this video because you do not need all three of these to be concerned. One is enough. One change that has been there for more than a few weeks, that you cannot explain, is your body telling you something.

As an NHS doctor specialising in men’s health I am not putting this out to scare anyone. I am putting it out because the men who do the worst are almost never the ones who came in too early.

Watch to the end. If one of these applies to you, book the appointment this week.

Half of UK men would delay going to the doctor even with symptoms that could kill them.

Not because they don’t care. Because they don’t think it’s serious enough. Because they don’t want to make a fuss. Because they’ll book an appointment next week and next week never comes.

As an NHS doctor I see this every single week. Men coming in with symptoms they’ve had for months. Sometimes years. Conditions that were entirely treatable six months ago that are now something else entirely.

Blood where it shouldn’t be. Weight dropping without explanation. A cough that has been there since winter. These are not things to monitor. They are things to act on.

Swipe through. If any of these apply to you, book the appointment today. Not tomorrow.

Russell Howard just found out what it takes to come on Man Alive.

His guest Charlie Higson sat in the chair, let me take his blood, and the results told a story. We had work to do.

Now Russell has been talking about it on his own show and I want to give him the same experience. The question is whether a younger comedian comes out looking any better than the one who just left his sofa.

Russell, the door is open. Come on Man Alive. Let us find out.

Every man over 30 should know these 5 numbers. Most don’t even know one of them.

As an NHS doctor specialising in men’s health, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, kidney function and testosterone are the five things I want every man to have checked from the age of 30. These aren’t just numbers on a piece of paper. Cardiovascular disease, type two diabetes, chronic kidney disease and low testosterone are all largely silent in the early stages. By the time you have symptoms, you’ve often lost years of opportunity to do something about it.

Get a blood test. Know your numbers.

Male pattern baldness is one of the most Googled men’s health topics and yet most men still just live with it.

It’s 2026. The treatments exist. Tablets, topical medicines, transplants. There’s no reason to feel stigmatised about it or to do nothing about it. The only thing stopping most men is not knowing where to start.

If that’s you, don’t be afraid to talk to someone. There are plenty of high quality private providers out there and you shouldn’t have to suffer.

Most men don’t realise ED is one of the first signs of cardiovascular disease.

As an NHS doctor specialising in men’s health and sexual wellbeing, ED is something I see constantly in clinic. Poor vascular function shows up here before it shows up anywhere else, often years before a diagnosis of heart disease, diabetes or stroke. It is not just a bedroom issue and it should never be dismissed.

I spoke to Men’s Fitness about what a sexual health MOT actually looks like and why more men need one. Link to the full article in my bio.

Out of every supplement men are buying right now, only one is actually worth your money. Can you guess which?

As an NHS doctor specialising in men’s health, I get asked about supplements constantly, whether it’s testosterone support, energy, sleep, or just general wellbeing. So, here’s my honest verdict based on the science.

Vitamin D, magnesium, omega 3, ashwagandha, lion’s mane - most have little to no science behind them, and some I’d actively tell my patients to avoid.

Watch the video and drop your guess below.

Generally, I would say, don’t take medical advice from anyone who’s telling you what to do while walking round the supermarket. You can’t just pick a fruit, vegetable or legume and decide it’s the worst thing for you ever . It’s hard enough to get people to eat Whole Foods anyway and I don’t think this gives anyone good advice.

I genuinely feel sorry for anyone trying to gain genuine evidence based information from social media. And it is made worse when you have doctors making incorrect statements and claims. Running is good for you. It does not destroy your joints. Just make sure you run properly and don’t run on an existing injury.
