The last week of January and the team is getting to grips with the nitty gritty of the Resuscitation Council UK 2025 updated guidelines - changes to course materials and to delivery.

We’ve also got a RFQ to respond to this week = it’s a session we have years of experience delivering which is great. I find submitting a bid for a new contract exciting always.

Plus we’re running four First Aid courses, a Suspension Trauma, an Anaphylaxis Awareness, a Seizure Management, a Basic Life Support and a Moving and Handling course.

It’s all go! Grateful of course!

As you may know we are in a period of transition here at Norvic and operations at our centre in Waterbeach are under review. Very sadly our Centre Manager Paul Griffin passed away last Summer. Courses for Summer 2026 are yet to be scheduled here although we have plenty at our Norwich centre if this is of interest. If you would like us to, we can contact you when we have completed our review. Updates can always be found on our website also.

We are running a QA L3 Emergency First Aid at Work course on:

20th April.

It's with visions of an exciting future that we are selling our Cambridgeshire satellite centre this year. We'll still be delivering training in the county - and across East Anglia as always - and it's home for some of our team. But, change is afoot. Boring? Us? 😊

We've just released our Spring 2026 dates for Moving and Handling Train-the-Trainer at our well equipped centre, Norvic HQ Bowthorpe Hall, Norwich. You can attend the four days for initial training: 13th, 16th, 20th, 23rd Feb. If you only require a refresher / requalification session then join us on 13th and 16th Feb 2026.

Happy New Year!

We’re looking forward to a 2026 full of opportunities to work with you all.

2025 was a particularly challenging year for us when we lost our highly regarded and much loved Cambridgeshire Regional Manager Paul Griffin to Cancer. He was only 46 and it has affected us all very deeply. We are aiming for a kind and gentle year ahead focusing on what really matters and supporting each other.

We do have some changes underway, and we’re excited to keep everyone updated as we progress with these. This year our Managing Director Wendy has stepped aside from the role. Having taken over the reins back in Summer 2009, Wendy will still remain on the team contributing insights gained through many years of training experience. As the new Company Director, I’m ready to get stuck in and take us forward while continuing to adhere to our core company values and vision.

We’re delighted to share valuable skills and knowledge to all our learners whether new to us or returning once again. We have released training dates throughout 2026 so do take a look or drop us a line at any time.

Have you heard about blended learning?

It means part-face-to-face training in the classroom and part e-learning at a time to suit the learner.

Learners gain a regulated qualification which accommodates their individual working style and pace.

We've already launched our Paediatric First Aid blended learning course. We'll be able to offer all accredited first aid sessions as blended learning in 2026.

"Ligature Trainers' Course. Hi all, do any companies offer this qualification? Thank you"

We offer this. We can deliver full suspension using a full-sized manikin or ligatures used from door handles etc. We can also deliver train-the-trainer so that one of your team could become a trainer to deliver the session to the rest of your workers.

Earlier this year the Mayor at Downham Market was kind enough to let us use the Town Hall to do a fund raiser for East Anglia Air Ambulance. It was a grotty day weatherwise but the public made the sun shine by having ago at CPR and defibrillation. For us, it ticked all the boxes:
- Showing how to help so more bystanders can administer life-saving first aid
- Raising money for a brilliant cause
- Having lots of fun in our local community
We have just had our certificate and thank you letter from East Anglian Air Ambulance Charity The amazing people of Downham you popped £145.55 into our collection pot. Thank you so so much. Really hope you all enjoyed it to.
