“ But don’t the hot coals hurt?” ….is the question I have been asked the most in the last couple of weeks since training as a firewalking instructor.

So …. here is the truth…
No. The coals aren’t the painful part.
The painful part is everything you’ve been carrying long before you even get near the fire.

The fear of getting it wrong.
The doubt that whispers, “Who do you think you are?”
The pressure to hold everything together.
The version of you that keeps shrinking so everyone else stays comfortable.

Those things hurt far far far more than walking across a few glowing embers.

Firewalking isn’t about pretending the fire isn’t real.
It’s very very real
It’s not a prank
It’s not a gimmick
It’s very real …. And yes, it’s hot.

But when you step up to those coals ….with focus, breath and presence….something shifts inside you.

You stop running from yourself and start meeting yourself.

And in that moment…
Fear softens.
Courage rises.
You hear your own voice again.

The fire doesn’t burn you.
It wakes you up.

And the surprising part?
It’s not the fire that hurts.
It’s staying still that hurts. The power is when you keep moving forward.
