We have the exciting opportunity for a Child Bereavement Specialist to join our Meerkat Service Team at Rowans Hospice. 💚

The Child Bereavement Specialist will provide specialist pre- and post-bereavement support to children and young people up to the age of 18 who have a significant adult with a life limiting illness or who have died.

🕧30-hours per week (Tuesday to Friday)
💷£38,682 - £46,580.00 FTE (£30,945.60 - £37,264.00 actual) DOE

Spring has arrived at our Living Well Centre 🌸🐰

Last week, our Gardening Group got creative with a special session making beautiful Easter-themed baskets. With a lovely selection of vibrant flowers to choose from, everyone designed their own unique arrangement before filling their baskets with Easter treats to take home

Our Gardening Group offers the opportunity to learn new tabletop gardening skills over the course of a 6-week programme in a relaxed and supportive environment.

On this year’s National Pets Day, we are celebrating our wonderful “Pets as Therapy” dogs who visit our In-patient Unit. 🐕‍🦺

Every week, we have the pleasure of seeing Rosie, Mac, Daisy and Chico, who spend time with patients, offering comfort and plenty of cuddles. Their visits bring comfort, companionship and emotional support, helping to lift spirits and create moments of joy.

It’s amazing to see how a simple visit can spark conversation, bring smiles and brighten someone’s day. We are so grateful for our hardworking furry friends - and their owners - who make such a meaningful difference. 💚

We are so grateful to the Veterans' Foundation for their recent funding award supporting our Veterans social support groups within our Living Well Services 💚

This grant will fully fund our two Monday groups for the next three years. These sessions support Veterans and serving personnel who are living with, or caring for, someone with a serious or life-limiting illness, as well as those who are recently bereaved.

Due to growing demand, the groups currently have a waiting list — highlighting just how vital this support is within our community.

Last year alone, the groups welcomed 826 visits. Thanks to this funding, we can continue providing this essential support to veterans and serving personnel across our area for the next three years.

🩷107 patients at our Living Well Centre

As a charity with just 22% of our funding coming from the NHS, we must raise an additional £23,700 every day to continue delivering vital care in our community.

Following their recent donation drive, 60 chocolate eggs were gifted to us for patients in our In-patient Unit and also to children supported by our Children’s Bereavement Team, our Meerkat Service 🍫

Are you a friendly and approachable person who enjoys helping others? Join us at Rowans Hospice and be part of something truly meaningful. As the first point of contact, you’ll warmly welcome staff, visitors and volunteers, ensuring all enquiries are managed efficiently. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
