Today is International Nurses Day and I want to take a moment to celebrate every single one of you.
The nurses on the wards at 3am. The A&E nurses holding it together when everything is chaotic. The NICU nurses caring for the tiniest, most vulnerable patients with steady hands and quiet strength. The GP nurses leading their teams, advocating for patients day in and day out. Every single role matters more than words can do justice to.
I have been fortunate enough to work across all of those environments over more than 20 years in the NHS. Wards, A&E, NICU, and most recently leading a team of nurses, nursing associates and HCAs in General Practice. And the one thing that has never changed across any of it is this - compassionate care is always the point.
It was actually as a woman noticing the changes that come with age that I found my way to medical aesthetics. Not because of vanity, but because I saw the connection between how we feel about ourselves and our overall wellbeing. That link between confidence, health and how we show up in the world is something I felt deeply.
🌿 Medical aesthetics, done properly, bridges that gap. It sits at the intersection of clinical safety and genuine care - which is exactly where nursing has always lived.
So whether you are in scrubs today, running a clinic, or like me, doing something that looks a little different from the outside but still comes from the same place - happy International Nurses Day. What you do matters.
