This week Marula Lodge welcomed Amy with her ‘Music for Health’

Music can be an incredibly useful tool when caring for someone living with dementia. It can help to calm someone, change their mood, connect with others and even reduce the feelings of isolation often associated with dementia.

Amy’s wonderful session also involved meditation to calm the senses 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♂️

What a great day at Marula Lodge, as the Manor Farm Experiences team visited with a variety of animals for residents (and staff!!) to interact with and enjoy.

From adorable bunnies and gentle guinea pigs to fascinating lizards and even a tortoise, each animal brought smiles and warmth to everyone’s day. 🐇🦎

Animal therapy has been shown to provide numerous benefits, especially for the elderly. Spending time with animals can help reduce stress, boost mood, and even alleviate feelings of loneliness. Holding and petting the soft bunnies or watching the curious movements of the lizards gave residents moments of calm and delight. It’s amazing to see how these visits spark conversation, laughter, and a sense of connection among everyone involved 🐢

A big thank you to Manor Farm Experiences for creating these special moments at Marula Lodge. It’s incredible to witness the therapeutic magic that animals bring to our community! 🧡
