📢 Patient Notice: FOREST END SITE CLOSED Monday 13.04.26 and Tuesday 14.04.26

Due to a water leak over the weekend, services at our Forest End site have been disrupted and is currently closed.

Our Waterlooville Health Centre and Stakes Lodge sites are open as usual. If you have an appointment at our Forest End site, we will be in touch regarding the new location.

📢Our Forest End Surgery Pod is out of action for routine maintenance from Friday 10th April. Whilst it is away you can use our Surgery Pod at the Stakes Lodge Surgery. Alternatively you can arrange to borrow a blood pressure machine from your local library , or visit Horizon Wellbeing Hub during it's opening hours.

📣VMG Patients - Here's a snapshot of what March 2026 looked like behind the scenes here at VMG.

✅We delivered more than 8600 appointments, more than half of which were face-to-face. The remainder were made up of telephone calls, online consultations, home visits and video calls.

☹️ Sadly more than 340 patients didn't attend their booked appointments. This was 106 hours worth of clinician time wasted that should have been spent seeing patients!

If you need to cancel an appointment, you can do so via the NHS App, our website and appointment request system (Anima), or by calling us on 023 9226 3089 and selecting option 3 for our automated check and cancel function (with no wait time!) If you repeatedly fail to attend your appointments we may remove you from the practice list

Please be advised that the practice will be closed on Friday 3rd April (Good Friday) and Monday 6th April (Easter Monday).

We reopen as usual at 8am on Tuesday 07th April.

If you need medical care over the weekend you can visit a local pharmacy, call 111, attend an urgent treatment centre, or for life threatening emergencies call 999.

We have 7 dedicated Care Co-ordinators that specialize in supporting specific groups of patients. The patient groups are:
▪️ Care home patients
▪️ Patients who are clinically frail or living with dementia
▪️ Children and families safeguarding
▪️ Adult Safeguarding
▪️ Learning disabilities
▪️ Patients living with cancer

Care Coordinators have a variety of duties that include:
▪️ Supporting patients outside of appointments
▪️ Making referrals to external services
▪️ Ensuring patients care needs are being met
▪️ Supporting patients with communication needs
▪️ Creating personalised care and support plans

Did you know that persistent bloating is a key symptom of ovarian cancer? That means bloating that is constantly there and doesn't come and go.

Persistent bloating is one of the main signs of ovarian cancer. It can be mistaken for other less serious conditions such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) as it has similar symptoms.

Our nurse-led information service, Ask Eve, receives a lot of questions from women and people with gynae organs who are feeling bloated, and are concerned that it could be something serious. So, we've answered some of your frequently asked questions.

📢 VMG Patients - Have you met our Care Navigator Team?

We have 20 Care Navigators, supported by 3 supervisors and a Team Leader.
Care Navigators are what you would traditionally think of as the reception team. The duties that Care Navigators undertake include:
▪️ Hosting our front desks
▪️ Answering telephone calls
▪️ Processing online appointment requests
▪️ Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks
▪️ Managing our appointment book

Our Care Navigators have a huge amount of knowledge about our services and appointments, local health services, and online resources. If we aren't the right service to see and treat your condition, they are trained to, and have guidelines to, support them in navigating you to an appropriate service.
