Multi-Therapy Approach to Hair Loss
Management of hair loss can be challenging especially if the cause of the hair loss is unknown or hereditary. It is normal to lose 50- 100 hairs per day.
The best way to minimize hair loss and improve its growth is by applying multiple approaches. We have put together some information from our practise.
Diet
Key aim: healthy and varied diet rich in antioxidants, iron, vitamin D and biotin
Non-Veg
Meat
Eggs

VEG/Vegan
Dark Green Vegetables – These are full of nutrients that prevent hair loss. Some good choices are:
Kale
Spinach • Collards
Avocados
Beans & Lentils
Sweet Potatoes
Fruits
Berries •Cherries • Apricots • Grapes • Oranges
These fruits contain several antioxidants, including Vitamin C, which can help to protect hair follicles from free radicals. Vitamin C also helps your body absorb iron and make collagen, which is one of the proteins that builds hair and helps prevent hair loss.
Nuts and Seeds
These nutrient-dense foods have many nutrients that are important for preventing hair loss, including vitamin E, zinc, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Some of the best choices to reach for are:
• Walnuts
• Brazil nuts
• Almonds
• Flax seeds
• Chia seeds
• Sunflower seeds
Zinc and selenium are essential trace elements that your body can’t make, so it’s important to get them through foods like nuts and seeds.
Vitamin supplements
A lack of the right nutrients including vitamins A, B, C, D and E, zinc, iron, biotin, protein and essential fatty acids may slow down hair growth or even cause hair loss.
We recommend collagen supplements and fish oils /Omega 3 supplements.
We also highly recommend Viviscal for men/women (contains fish/shellfish.

Trioxidil: Trioxidil, a minoxidil alternative, and often contain natural ingredients but strength of the scientific evidence for Trioxidil is limited compared to Minoxidil.
Platelet Rich Plasma/Fibrin:
It is a three-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.
PRP injections may trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications.
