Evora Medical Aesthetics- The only clinic in UK to offer Ultrasound guided fat dissolving injections. The use of ultrasound not only helps us to estimate the exact area and thickness of body fat, but also allows us to inject the fat dissolving injections at appropriate depth thus minimising complications.

Injecting fat dissolving medications into the wrong layers of the body can cause unwanted complications. Ultrasound greatly increases the margin of safety for these procedures.

Multi-Therapy Approach to Hair Loss

Management of hair loss can be challenging especially if the cause of the hair loss is unknown or hereditary. It is normal to lose 50- 100 hairs per day.
The best way to minimize hair loss and improve its growth is by applying multiple approaches. We have put together some information from our practise.

Diet

Key aim: healthy and varied diet rich in antioxidants, iron, vitamin D and biotin

Non-Veg
Meat
Eggs
Fish

VEG/Vegan
Dark Green Vegetables – These are full of nutrients that prevent hair loss. Some good choices are:
Kale
Spinach • Collards
Avocados
Beans & Lentils
Sweet Potatoes

Fruits
Berries •Cherries • Apricots • Grapes • Oranges
These fruits contain several antioxidants, including Vitamin C, which can help to protect hair follicles from free radicals. Vitamin C also helps your body absorb iron and make collagen, which is one of the proteins that builds hair and helps prevent hair loss.

Nuts and Seeds
These nutrient-dense foods have many nutrients that are important for preventing hair loss, including vitamin E, zinc, selenium, and omega-3 fatty acids. Some of the best choices to reach for are:
• Walnuts
• Brazil nuts
• Almonds
• Flax seeds
• Chia seeds
• Sunflower seeds

Zinc and selenium are essential trace elements that your body can’t make, so it’s important to get them through foods like nuts and seeds.

Vitamin supplements
A lack of the right nutrients including vitamins A, B, C, D and E, zinc, iron, biotin, protein and essential fatty acids may slow down hair growth or even cause hair loss.

We recommend collagen supplements and fish oils /Omega 3 supplements.
We also highly recommend Viviscal for men/women (contains fish/shellfish.

Exercise
Exercising for Hair Growth: Daily walks
Jogging - The main thing you want to focus on for hair growth is stimulating blood circulation.
Simple Scalp Massage
HIIT Exercises, Strength Training Alternate Nostril Breathing.
Yoga Asanas that not just promote hair growth but will also help in reducing hair fall and improving their health.
• Kapalabhati.
• Adho Mukha Svanasana.
• Sarvangasana.
• Balasana.
• Sirsasana.
• Vajrasana.
• Uttanasana.
• Matsyasana.

Hair oils
Everyday Hair oil
Coconut oil, Almond oil, Olive oil, Argan oil, Castor oil,
Jojoba oil
Essential oils
Mix 3 to 4 drops of essential oil into 3 tablespoons of carrier oil, like olive oil or melted coconut oil, and apply it directly to your scalp. Leave it in for at least 10 to 60 minutes. Massage it into your scalp and wrap your head with a warm towel before washing it out and shampooing as you normally would. You can do this several times per week.
Essential oils for your hair
1. Lavender essential oil
2. Peppermint essential oil
3. Rosemary essential oil
4. Cedarwood essential oil
5. Lemongrass essential oil (Good for dandruff) 6. Thyme essential oil
7. Clary sage essential oil 8. Tea tree essential oil
9. Ylang-ylang essential oil

Medications:

Steroid creams
Finasteride (only for males) Spironolactone
Antibiotics

Minoxidil: Minoxidil is a scientifically studied ingredient to promote hair growth. Unfortunately, it’s also associated with side effects, most commonly irritation, redness, itching and in rare cases low blood pressure. Its effectiveness is however clearly proven.

Trioxidil: Trioxidil, a minoxidil alternative, and often contain natural ingredients but strength of the scientific evidence for Trioxidil is limited compared to Minoxidil.

Platelet Rich Plasma/Fibrin:
It is a three-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp.
PRP injections may trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications.

Diastasis recti (divarication recti) or tummy gap

DR is the separation of the re**us abdominis muscle. The re**us abdominis runs vertically along the front of your stomach, commonly called as "six-pack abs." It is divided into left and right sides by a band of tissue called the linea alba that runs down the middle.
Although we tend to hear the term diastasis or tummy gap with regards to pregnancy and in postpartum women, it can also occur in men, often in relation to obesity, in elite athletes, and in children too. Genetics also plays a role.
It’s important to know that everyone has a linea alba and it’s deemed normal to have a gap of 1-2.5cm between the two halves of the re**us abdominis muscle.
As your uterus expands during pregnancy, the abdominals are stretched and the linea alba thins and pulls apart. This band of tissue gets wider as it's pushed outward.
Once you deliver your baby, the linea alba can heal and come back together. It's highly elastic and retracts backs (like a rubber band). When the tissue loses its elasticity from being overstretched, the gap in the abdominals will not close as much as it should. This is diastasis recti.

What is Hyperhidrosis (hi-pur-hi-DROE-sis)

It is abnormally excessive sweating that's not necessarily related to heat or exercise.

Besides disrupting normal daily activities, this type of heavy sweating can cause social anxiety and embarrassment.

The most common form of hyperhidrosis is called primary focal (essential) hyperhidrosis. With this type, the nerves responsible for signaling your sweat glands become overactive.

Secondary hyperhidrosis occurs when excess sweating is due to a medical condition. Few causes are:

Diabetes
Menopause hot flashes
Thyroid problems
Low blood sugar
Some types of cancer
Heart attack
Nervous system disorders
Infections

Certain medications also can lead to heavy sweating, as can opioid withdrawal.

Treatment

If an underlying medical condition is contributing to the problem, that condition will be treated first.
If no clear cause can be found, treatment focuses on controlling excessive sweating.

Medications

Drugs used to treat hyperhidrosis include:

Prescription antiperspirant
Prescription creams
Nerve-blocking medications
Antidepressants
Botulinum toxin injections

Surgical and other procedures

Microwave therapy
Sweat gland removal
Nerve surgery (sympathectomy)
