Families often feel lost when choosing mobility equipment for the first time. In this Care Cast short, Ashley Griffith from Mobility Hire explains to Luca why careful planning matters.

“Please do not buy just off the internet” he said. “Speak to people who use the products and make a list of what you want to achieve.”

He encourages families to think about everyday routines such as lifting equipment into a car or visiting local shops. Weight, folding ability and practicality all shape the right choice. His final advice is simple: call someone who knows the options and can guide you without pressure.

A reassuring perspective for anyone exploring mobility support alongside live-in care.

Short term hire is often the simplest way to stay independent whether you are travelling or recovering at home. As Ashley Griffith from Mobility Hire explained to Luca, “We work with cruise lines, hotels and holiday providers so equipment is delivered directly to where you are going.”

Hiring can also give families reassurance after hospital stays and it offers the freedom to change equipment as needs shift.

On this episode of The Care Cast, host Luca Rado, Co-founder of The Live In Care
Company, sits down with Dr Pauline Swift, Chairperson of the Trustees at Blood Pressure

high blood pressure, and her insights highlight just how important early awareness and self-
management can be.

invisible. Throughout this conversation she explains why knowing your numbers matters and
how families can work together to prevent long-term health problems.

What is The Live In Care Company?

The Live In Care Company is dedicated to providing you with highly experienced and skilled carers to create a happy, reliable and positive experience for both client and carer.

Live-in care is the term that is used to describe a trained and experienced carer moving into the home of a person to provide care, companionship and domestic support around the clock.

It has the benefit of allowing the person being cared for to remain within their familiar environment, a home they know, neighbours and friends nearby, and the things they have grown to love and be comforted by. Understanding when you or a loved one may have come to the point when need additional support may not be straight forward. It may also be difficult for someone to admit that they cannot do some of the tasks that they used to find easy.
