Greetings from Canada where I am doing some training with a couple of inspirational yoga teachers and friends. You just never stop learning the myriad lessons yoga has for you! 🌞
I am excited to restart my 75 minute Live Yoga sessions on Wednesday nights at WBGS, WD18 7JF from 1830 - 1945. The 6 week course with free recordings starts on Wednesday 13th September and ends Wednesday 18th October. I am keeping the price the same at £13.30 per live class. If you can't make a live class, join me on Zoom on Tuesday at 1800 instead.
I have some fantastic flows, core, hip and shoulder work to name just a few amongst a wide array of challenging, fun classes where we can breath together and you can have some time to go to a quiet space within yourself to recharge and get to know yourself without distractions, building strength and flexibility along the way.
I think of yoga as a 3 for 1: body, mind and spirit all get recharged and balanced.
Before I see you, here are a few yoga ideas for the next month :
1. If you feel anxious in any way, go for Box Breathing: inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4 and hold for 4. Repeat as many rounds as you need to feel more at ease and feel a sense of shift in your mindset.
2. To calm and soothe your nervous system any time: inhale and exhale evenly then work on slightly extending the exhale.
3. To really shift stress from your body, shake your whole body like a kind of dance: really shake out each part of you. After labour, women often shake, animals shake out to relax. You will feel good after even a couple of minutes of this. Put on some music if you like and let go!
4. Meditation: it doesn't have to be all earnest and serious and cross-legged. Sit anyway you like, perhaps with your back supported at a wall. Take a few minutes and gradually increase it. You are trying to see what goes on in your own mind and get to know yourself - a profound and important task.
Here is what my yoga is all about: ageing gracefully, being strong (we use our bodies as resistance training), and strong enough to be open and vulnerable to life, increasing our flexibility, self-reflection to help us be the best we can be to ourselves and others. The benefits of yoga are cumulative - better sleep, less worry, more strength, better balance to name a few....
I sincerely recommend you consider a block of one to one sessions with me in the autumn and winter. Even one or two would really help you with posture, a check-in with how you execute the postures and some personalised routines. I am happy to be flexible with the number of sessions. You will gain a lot from these and it will enhance your personal practice and motivate you to make yoga an integral part of your life.
If you want a personal reference I can happily put you in touch with some of my current one to one folk for a chat.
Email me at lindacrafferty@gmail.com for more information. I have Zoom sessions on a Tuesday nights, recordings, 1:1 classes and drop in sessions.
In the meantime enjoy the natural world, your family and friends and all the love you are blessed with.
