So you are given infected blood 46 years ago, not notified, find you've been infected and got liver damage. Then the Government apologises on behalf of the state, say they'll compensate all those infected. The NHS then state you've got to get evidence yourself i.e. sending numerous letters begging for hospital records which you then find out are destroyed after 25 years, so you send that info with your application along with evidence of blood transfusion from your GP notes. Then to wriggle out of accepting you onto the compensation scheme they are now asking for witness statements from doctors who gave contaminated blood 46 years ago and are probably now dead...... can't make it up 😡

In last weeks Advertiser. Please get a Hepatitis C test if you had a blood transfusion or blood products prior to 1991. It slowly damages your liver without you knowing. Please share, the NHS don't contact you, you contact them!!

If you've had blood transfusions or blood tissue/products prior to 1991, please do send for a test. It's a do at home test and free. Hepatitis C causes liver damage and you don't know its happening.
