Contrast cafe in Watton, near Thetford, will close this weekend due to owner's illness.

Still good to know that people are still talking and thinking about Contrast 🥰
For now the Café is closed, but we are looking at alternatives ( indoor markets) to provide to our customers some of our Portuguese Products (cakes, soft drinks, etc ).
P.S. Just remember, the shop is officially closed as Café Contrast .
A lovely lady is running now the shop .

It's with sadness in my eyes and heart that I say goodbye to my dream .
So many memories from day one.
.
I enjoyed every party 🥳, Christmas meals, every Birthday 🎂, every Halloween 🎃, every Karaoke night 🎤 .
A big thank you to everyone who supported us throughout covid and lockdowns . To new friends that we had the pleasure to meet because we had the business. We had fantastic hot summer days, enjoying a drink , chatting and laughing big times seating outside.
I hope I managed to represent well my country and my culture, with the coffee, the cakes, the wine and of course our Tapas Menus . Being Portuguese is a hand full of feelings and emotions . We are very happy all the time . We sing, we dance and sometimes we talk a bit loud too , we are definitely different.
A big thank you to my daughter . She was a fantastic employee, a wonderful daughter supporting me in this 4 years of a roller-coaster dream . An un-replaceable friend too.
She was always there to catch me up in every fall .
Being ill last year with Cancer was a very tough time for me.
I will be still around in Watton , the town who welcomed me and I called "home" for the last 20 years. I don't have plans for the future . I will keep my job at Centerparcs since I'm still there , a company that as being very supportive too.
I can't wait to go into the café as a costumer. YES it will be reopened with a new management.
A lovely lady is taking over from me and with that we made sure Watton isn't loosing a big "asset " . A place opened after 4pm serving coffee and wine , where friends and family can meet together.

After the news of me closing doors and passed the café over , weird situation happened.

It brakes my heart seeing people coming into the café for the first time , in nearly 4 years that I opened for the first time .

I do try to understand why ? Why they never made any effort to come previously and support the business before ?
Small Towns like our one need all kind of support from the community.
There is no point to complain or be sad about the shops being closed and high streets lifeless .

And now they are saying that its a shame that I'm closing , that they really like Portuguese food 🫣😔

Last week opened and last opportunity to buy once more our Portugueses Cakes .
Do not let the rain to put you off from visit us one more time before we close.

Adam Thompson, from Reality Estate Agent in Norwich, has died less than four months since his wife Lucy Thompson lost her battle with cancer.
