Christmas is coming to Woodgreen Nursing Home – and it’s delicious!

We’re thrilled to share our festive Christmas Day and Boxing Day menus with residents and families. From traditional roasts and comforting soups to indulgent desserts (including a very charming chocolate Christmas tree), there’s plenty to enjoy.

Our Christmas Day Menu features classics such as Roast Turkey or Beef with all the trimmings, Breaded Brie, and a selection of festive puddings.

Our Boxing Day Menu brings homestyle favourites including Buttermilk Turkey Burgers, Fish Pie, and decadent desserts to round off the celebrations beautifully.

Bookings are now open, so please let us know your menu choices in advance.

After all, it’s the season for good food, good company, and pretending the calories don’t count…

🎄 While most care homes are celebrating their Christmas light switch-on… we’re celebrating our Nurse Call Sound Switch-Off!

Over the past few months, both residents and staff at Woodgreen Nursing Home made it clear to our Director, Chris, and the Management team that the constant nurse call noise was one of the most frustrating parts of daily life, disruptive, stressful and far from homely.

So we acted on it.

This week, we rolled out a brand-new smart interface for our Nursecall system, and the difference has been immediate.

The relentless ringing has gone (emergency alerts remain, of course).
The home is now noticeably calmer, more peaceful and far more comfortable for everyone.

📱 Carers now have PDA access to calls for quicker, more efficient responses.

🖥️ Shift Leaders have a live monitoring screen for real-time oversight.

📊 Management have a detailed analytics dashboard to review performance, trends and response times.

This upgrade is a direct response to the people who live and work here, and it’s already improving wellbeing, reducing stress and making Woodgreen feel even more like home.

A simple switch-off… with a genuinely big impact. 💓

Come and join us this Monday 1st December, as we light up our home and get into the festive spirit!
We’ll have hot drinks — including delicious hot chocolates topped with squirty cream and marshmallows — plus mince pies to enjoy while we get the Christmas carols going.
