🌡️ Amber Heat Health Alert Issued for East Midlands 🌡️

The UK Health Security Agency has issued an Amber Heat Health Alert for the East Midlands from 12pm Fri 27 June to 6pm Tues 1 July 2025.

With sustained high temperatures expected. the Public Health team is urging everyone to take extra care to stay safe and well. ☀️💧

Here’s how you can beat the heat:

✅ Stay out of the sun between 11am–3pm
✅ Exercise or walk pets during cooler parts of the day
✅ Keep your home cool – close sun-facing curtains & windows
✅ Dress for the weather: wear a hat, sunglasses & sunscreen
✅ Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water, limit alcohol
✅ Check in on elderly or vulnerable family, friends & neighbours
✅ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke

With the summer sun shining bright, it’s important to take extra care — especially for the elderly, young children, and those with health conditions. At Northants Community Care, we’re committed to keeping everyone safe and well.

✅ Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water
✅ Keep cool – close curtains and use fans or cool damp cloths
✅ Wear light, breathable clothing
✅ Avoid going out during peak heat (11am–3pm)
✅ Wear sun cream!
✅ Check in on loved ones and neighbours

🌱 A Blooming Idea in Progress! 🌹

Our green-fingered Registered Manager Siggy has recently planted a rose just outside our care offices — a small but meaningful gesture that reflects the care, growth, and dedication we bring to our work every day. 💚

It’s a lovely touch that will bring a little life and colour to our doorstep — a quiet reminder that, with care and patience, beautiful things take root and grow. 🌿
