Exciting Announcement: Ruxstons Own Pasta range coming soon!

Gabriel visited the Mainardi family and their organic pasta company in the hills around Alba, Italy, last week, a region famous for its truffles, hazelnuts and long history of artisan, small-scale food production. The Mainardi family has been farming organically here since the 1980's, long before it was fashionable.

The business is now run by three siblings, Luisa, Marco and Laura, who have kept the artisan, hands-on approach while letting modern machinery take care of the repetitive bits.

From January we will bring their new organic pastas and organic gluten-free pastas into Ruxstons. From the Organic Egg Pappardelle to the Gluten-Free Buckwheat Fussili, the Gluten-Free Oat Pasta is also particularly exciting. it’s a big step forward for our pasta range, and we can’t wait for you to try them.

Enjoy a moment of quiet from the busy Christmas preparations with one of our sausage rolls. Made in house, with pork from local outdoor raised pigs, and with an all organic butter shortcrust pastry (shortcrust historically being the pastry used in sausage rolls).

These are a perfect sized snack to enjoy with your coffee. ☕️

Christmas has officially arrived here at Ruxstons! 🎄❄️

We are excited to be fully stocked with a range of delicious mince pies handcrafted locally by Glenmore Bakery! We will be keeping a selection of traditional mince pies, alongside mince pies with an innovative twist on a classic, such as the viennese mince pies, and luxury caramel mince pies.

Here at Ruxstons, we stock a large variety of quality local honeys from Devon, Exmoor, and Sedgemoor. These include runny honey, raw honey, set honey and even delicious honeycomb! 🍯🐝

Our Sedgemoor Honey comes from hives scattered across Sedgemoor and Taunton Deane, produced by Chris, a beekeeper with over 30 years of experience. Exmoor Wildflower Honey is harvested by William, on his honey farm in the heart of Exmoor National Park.

Try our lovely honey drizzled into a lemon tea, the perfect combination to soothe a sore throat this season.

A new look for our display window! 🍫

The wonderful Kate carefully designed and created this amazing chocolate sculpture as featured in our display window. It depicts a selection of our delicious chocolates, including the Dark Brazier Coffee and Caramel Bear.

Chocolate Making Courses at Ruxstons

We’re delighted to announce the launch of our chocolate-making courses at Ruxstons, led by the hugely talented Chef Lubo Rotak.

Our Beginner’s Chocolate-Making Course is a fun, hands-on day designed for small groups of six. Over four and a half hours, participants will:

1) Learn all about chocolate and its history
2)Whip up their own fondant fillings and choose flavours
3)Hand-paint colourful moulds
4)Create beautifully finished chocolates to take home

Lubo brings over 20 years’ experience in crafting desserts and confectionery that excite customers. He’s worked with leading UK brands, developing everything from indulgent premium ranges to pioneering vegan creations. For the past decade, he’s been a driving force at one of the UK’s top dessert manufacturers, combining technical precision with creative flair.

The countdown is on for our amazing ice cream tasting event on Saturday 18th October!

Not only will you be able to try our 8 luxury flavours, inspired by our delicious chocolates, but the event will also include a host of other experiences.

From 6:30pm, you can expect an incredible evening as follows:

⭐6.30pm – Arrive, get a complimentary drink, and enjoy a pizza buffet.

⭐7.00pm First tasting round – Our team will circulate with trays of three ice cream flavours to try, enough for proper spoonfuls of each.

⭐Guess the flavour – A quick, light-hearted blind tasting to test your senses (and spark a few debates!).

⭐Second round – Four more tasters arrive with fresh spoons.
Finale – Cast your vote for your favourite, and we’ll announce the winning flavour.

⭐One lucky guest will also win the full range of 500ml tubs (worth over £70).

The top floor will be open for the evening, so you will also be able to come up and view our chocolate factory amongst our other amazing facilities. It will be a standing social evening - lively, informal, full of good food, great music and a few surprises.

From designing the packaging and decorating the new ice cream freezer, to creating some incredible flavours, as well as working in the ice cream factory.

They really have made something to be proud of, which we can guarantee tastes amazing!

One of our delicious specials this autumn is our hazelnut hot chocolate! 🍁🌰🍂 A nutty twist on a traditional hot chocolate, it is a smooth delight with hazelnut tones.

Our hazelnut hot chocolate is made using our rich dark chocolate powder with 33% cocoa, and topped with whipped cream and finely chopped hazelnut. It is the perfect remedy for the colder, drizzly autumn days, to enjoy in our cafe or as a pick-me-up on the go.
