When your ears feel blocked, it's best to get them checked asap to avoid any issues...❌👂🏼⬇️

1️⃣ Wax blockages can become dry and attatch to the skin of the ear canal, making for a stubborn removal and potentially need more than one session of treatment!
2️⃣ Whilst this patient was completely comfortable throughout treatment, wax blockages that are present for years can risk being uncomfortable when coming away.
3️⃣ The skin in your earcanal is sensitive - with large blockages the skin can sometimes become irritated and look red due to raised blood vessels post removal. We often call you back in for a check-up a few days after your treatment if this is the case to avoid your risk of infection or further skin issues.

We always advise you use an olive oil based ear drop/spray for around 4-5days prior to your treatment to ensure comfort and a successful treatment of stubborn wax. 👂🏼💧

Not one of my usual videos but I feel this topic is important to speak about. Whilst these guidelines aren't active and under public consultation, I think some representation and voice from practitioner like myself is very needed. Putting earcare back onto the NHS could be catastrophic when some wait times across the country being over 18months within these departments. Now more than ever there is a real need for a new regulated, recognised role with conversion access.

I will be working hard to get the voice for experienced practitioners across, if you relate to this video - my inbox is open.
