Opened in 2010, our clinic offers award winning care to the people of Wellington and surrounding areas for musculoskeletal problems including Back Pain, Neck Pain, Headache/Migraine, as well as a range of Joint & Muscle problems. Using a modern, evidence based approach we create personal treatment plans that focus on you as an individual. Our aim is to get you out of pain,feeling good and most importantly keep you feeling good. You will also benefit from your chiropractor's knowledge of general health and how to keep fit and healthy. We have recently increase our clinic opening hours to provide you with a greater range of appointment times. We work within the Wellington Medical Centre and have plenty of free onsite car parking and full disabled access to the clinic too. Our practitioners' excellence in patient management, safety and patient satisfaction has been recognised by the Royal College of Chiropractors. We have been awarded to the highest level of recommendation, receiving the Patient Partnership Quality Mark (PPQM) and Clinical Management Quality Mark (CMQM) for a number of years now. Further, all our chiropractors are registered with the General Chiropractic Council, Royal College of Chiropractors, British Chiropractic Association and the British Medical Acupuncture Society. Our Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and general health. They have a specialist interest in neck and back pain, but when they assess patients, they take their entire physical, emotional and social wellbeing into account. Our Chiropractors use a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility, including hands-on manipulation of the spine. As well as manual treatment, chiropractors are able to offer a package of care which includes advice on self-help, therapeutic exercises and lifestyle changes. Examination and treatment are usually done on the same day, saving you time and less clinic visits.

Stuck for a healthy tasty nutritious meal, here’s Becky’s favourite recipe this January 👩🏼‍🍳
Slow Cooker Creamy Chicken Orzo (approximately 500 calories and 45g protein per serving)
2 chicken breast, cut into chunks
5 sun-dried tomatoes, chopped finely
1/2 onion, diced
350ml chicken stock
130g orzo
150g mushrooms
2 carrots, finely chopped
1 leek, finely chopped
Handful spinach
4 heaped tablespoons of crème fraiche
Salt, pepper, smoked paprika

Add all ingredients to the slow cooker, except the crème fraiche, orzo and mushrooms.
Cook for 3 hours on high or 6 on low.
Add in the remaining ingredients and cook for a further 45 minutes Enjoy 🥕🍄‍🟫🍗

- ⁠wear both straps over your shoulder
- ⁠adjust the straps if needed

Sleep Cycles 💤
On average, adults typically complete four to six sleep cycles per night, with each cycle lasting about 80 to 110 minutes. These cycles consist of different stages, including non-REM sleep (divided into light and deep sleep) and REM sleep, and they repeat throughout the night, with REM periods becoming longer later in the night.
The first sleep cycle is often the shortest, ranging from 70 to 100 minutes, while later cycles tend to fall between 90 and 120 minutes. In addition, the composition of each cycle — how much time is spent in each phase of sleep — changes as the night goes along.

Sleep cycles can vary from person to person and from night to night based on a wide range of factors such as age, recent sleep patterns, and alcohol consumption.

Stage 1 usually lasts for 1-7 minutes and may be when you first feel drowsy.
Stage 2 usually lasts for 10-60 minutes and is where you me body temperature falls.
Stage 3 usually lasts for 20-40 minutes and is the deepest sleep cycle.
Stage 4 is between 10-60 minutes and is your REM (rapid eye movement) sleep and this is where you dream the most!

Muscle recovery primarily happens during deep sleep and involves repairing damaged muscle fibers, replenishing energy (glycogen) stores, removing metabolic waste, and restoring hormonal balance, with growth hormone secretion being particularly crucial for protein synthesis and muscle repair. Adequate, consistent sleep is essential for muscle health and performance; a lack of sleep can impair recovery, slow healing, and increase injury risk.

Our chiropractors will often ask about your sleep pattern and how much you sleep, as well as position and number of pillows. This is to give us an indication on your recovery period and how you may respond to treatment.
