Supported by the Wells Harbour Commissioners and produced by harbour office assistant Amy Hendry, our Harbour Master has been working on a podcast series surrounding tales of Wells Harbour.

Each episode is an insight into Robert’s 36 years working for the Port, with 25 years as Harbour Master, where he shares real stories, local maritime history, funny moments and even some ghostly legends.

Heritage Harbour visit WELLS NEXT THE SEA. In 1940 high risk of AIRBORNE INVASION on large areas of flat hard sand north of Wells. Harbour kept working with barrage balloons to defend sailing barges carrying cement to construct Norfolk airfields. The sign "Teas" on the roof of what is now the Harbourmaster's office was ordered to be removed in case it aided identification! Image credit Wells Harbour Commissioners.

Tours of Wells Lobster Hatchery are now available for the 2025 season. These interactive and educational tours offer a fun way for children (and adults!) to learn about marine conservation and the lifecycle of lobsters. Tours are available for schools, local groups, the Wells community and visitors alike.

We are delighted to announce the completion of the first circumnavigation of Britain by electric boat 'ELECTRA' skippered by 18yr old Harry Besley with cousin and crew Henry Cietak .

The Alderman Peel High School year 7 pupils all enjoyed 3 days of water activities at Whitlingham Adventure. This has been funded by Wells Harbour Maritime Trust Activites we hope this has given lots of children the opportunity to access water sporting experiences & lasting fun memories. The pupils were given praise from the staff for their conduct & attitude during the events. Well done to all pupils for being brave, facing & accepting new challenges with smiles & laughter along the way.

POSSIBLE KAYAK SESSION 22nd August.
I am Hoping to hold a kayak/paddle board family fun free taster session on Tuesday 22nd August 9.30am which will run until 11.30am. I have contacted all those who were cancelled last time & have some free spaces available. However please be aware I will pencil you in & confirm on the morning of session by messenger or phone call to say if all going ahead as at the moment the wind speed keeps fluctuating & I have to make sure it’s safe. I will know more on the morning when I am on the slipway to gauge the conditions. Message me if interested. Fingers crossed 🤞
