We are a family-run business that has been proudly supplying Kerosene, Red Diesel, and White Diesel to farms and homes across the Southwest since 1954.

Founded in 1925 by Robert Tincknell in Wells, Somerset, our family-run business has deep roots in supporting the local farming community. Originally focused on blacksmithing and agricultural machinery, we expanded in 1954 to include fuel distribution with the formation of Tincknell Fuels, serving Somerset and beyond. Over the decades, our commitment to expert knowledge, heritage, and friendly customer service has remained strong. In 2024, we embraced the future by diversifying our offerings with Renewable Fuel (HVO), continuing to support our community with reliable, sustainable energy solutions across the Southwest.

Do you own an oil-heated home? ✅

There’s a government consultation about how homes that use oil heating could be treated in future energy plans. The current focus includes options like heat pumps, which can be expensive and disruptive for older rural homes.

Industry groups like UKIFDA are encouraging renewable fuels like HVO to be included as a practical, low‑disruption way to reduce emissions without replacing your boiler.

At our Wells and Congresbury Country Store, open 7 days a week, we stock 20‑litre emergency home heating oil cans.
