Do you ever catch yourself watching other people and thinking…

“There is no way in this world that I could stand up and speak in front of an audience”

“I could never ask them out on a date… I’d be completely mortified.”

“I wish I had the confidence to go for that promotion.”

“I’d love to compete, I’m just not that confident.”

“I admire people who put themselves out there… I just couldn’t be one of them.”

And before you know it, that quiet thought settles in…’That’s just not me’. So you stay in observer mode. Watching others step forward, take risks, put themselves out there and grow. Whilst your confidence dwindles.

The truth is confidence isn’t something we’re born with… we either have it or we don’t. No, we build it.

Behind most confident people is a long list of moments where they felt nervous, uncomfortable, doubtful — they just did it anyway (often with a wobble!).

Anyone can become more confident. Yes it requires getting a bit uncomfortable, but you can do it in manageable steps,
not huge leaps and forcing yourself to “just be brave”.

And even better, with the right mental preparation, those overwhelming feelings will soften. What once felt terrifying will start to feel… doable.... And maybe even a little exciting!

This is an area I genuinely love supporting clients with.
Whether it’s confidence around public speaking, getting yourself out there on social media, interviews, dating, competing, or doing something you’ve avoided for years.

And for some people, it isn’t confidence at all —
it’s a fear or phobia that’s been quietly running the show in the background.

So if there’s something you keep thinking…
“I wish I could — but I can’t.”

Maybe the question isn’t why them?
Maybe it’s…Why NOT you? 💛

I'm a fully certified therapist, coach and hypnotherapist based in Wells (who used to be absolutely TERRIFIED of public speaking... !)

If this resonates, you’re very welcome to message me — no pressure, just a conversation. I’ll pop the contact details in the chat.

The beginning of a new year brings a lot of talk about what we should be adding into our lives. New routines. New goals. New habits.

But for many, the real work isn’t about starting more. It begins with letting go of what’s holding you back.

That might be persistent worrying that never really switches off. A constant undercurrent of negative thinking. Feeling overwhelmed, on edge, or emotionally exhausted for no obvious reason. An overworked nervous system that’s been stuck in “alert mode” for far too long.

For others, it shows up as fears or phobias that limit life more than they’d like to admit. Or behaviours that once helped them cope, but now feel out of control; alcohol, smoking, compulsive habits, or patterns they keep promising themselves they’ll change… tomorrow.

None of this means you’re weak, broken, or lacking willpower. It usually means your mind and nervous system have learned ways to protect you… they’re just no longer useful.

But If you could gain control of those patterns…What would you then actually like more of?

More calm? Contentment? Sleep?!
A sense of peace or emotional space? Kindness… with yourself?
Confidence, self-worth, freedom, control?

Letting go creates room. Room to think clearly again. Room to respond rather than react.
Room to get back to yourself again (not just someone getting through the days).

If any of this resonates, and you’d like to make some changes but unsure how, just send a DM to get started.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. I’m always happy to answer questions — quietly, confidentially, and without pressure. 💛

I offer a powerful blend of Solution Focused Psychotherapy with coaching and I use Hypnotherapy to work at a deeper level. I have over 10 years experience and I work from a quiet, relaxing office in Wells with plenty of off road parking. It’s a great space to reset. I also offer online therapy and coaching.

Remember the decisions you make now affect your year - make it a good one.

hate this bit….As we enter a New Year, there’s a lot of pressure to do more. To be more.

Because what I’ve witnessed (again and again) in particular, during my work as a menopause coach, is that too many women in mid-life are already stretched way too thin. Time poor. Pulled in every direction.

So maybe this is the year we rethink all of that?

Maybe instead of making plans to push harder, we make space. Space to rest, to reconnect with ourselves, to stop constantly rushing.

To listen to what our bodies are asking for.

Because what if doing less is exactly what we need?

I know from experience, both personally and professionally, that when we give ourselves time to pause, to be present, to simply enjoy the small things… life starts to feel richer. Not because we’ve added more, but because we’ve made space to feel better.

We often wait for a health scare to start taking our wellbeing seriously. But our health (physical and menta), It’s the absolute foundation.

Over Christmas, many of us reflect on what really matters, don’t we? Time with family and friends. Fresh air. Proper unrushed conversations. Simple joy. And then January hits…. full throttle, and we forget it all over again.

You don’t need to become a “new you” in the new year.

You just need to take care of the real you.

And if 2025 didn’t work out the way you wanted it to, stop beating yourself up and show yourself some of the compassion and kindness that you give to others..

Wishing you rest, space, peace and good health as we move into 2026. 💫

Lots of love,
Kirstie 💕

Merry Christmas!

It’s been such a privilege to support you this year. Thank you for your trust, your openness and your courage ⭐

If Christmas feels calm and joyful for you, I hope you soak it up. And if it feels complicated, emotional or tiring, that’s okay too. Be kind to you (and your nervous system).

Wishing you a peaceful Christmas and a gentle start to the New Year.

New group coaching coming in 2026!

Part of solution focused work involves helping our clients identify the signs that things are going better. Often these are tiny, imperceptible things. Yesterday something happened when I visited my dad that I wanted to share - because it really warmed my heart. This was a huge sign that things are going better.

After losing my mum, my dad said he’d never put the xmas tree up again. Now if you’d have seen how many xmas decs my mum would put up you’d understand how sad this was. Christmas, the memories, the nostalgia, only amplifies feelings of loss doesn’t it?

Then yesterday, my dad said he felt ready to put the Christmas tree up. So you can imagine my joy when he asked me to help him decorate it.

This is eight years on.

Navigating grief of that significant person in your life is the most painful thing we’ll encounter. But us humans are gifted with the resource of adaptability. It’s the biggest skill we have - without it we’d never survive.

Acceptance and that adaptability can take a long, long time but we all have it.

Never give up on hope. Hope is always present. We just need a bit of time for the eyes to adjust to see the light.
