Experienced Vehicle Technician
Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician looking to take the next steps in your automotive career? If so due to expansion, we are looking for a Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. You will play a crucial role within the company inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of vehicles, ensuring that vehicles are in good working condition and meeting safety and performance standards.
You will work in various settings including Servicing, Brakes, Wet belts, Timing Belts and Chains, Body off, Engine and Suspension work.
The successful applicant would have excellent mechanical skills, good attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve mild to complex automotive issues. Knowledge of using the latest diagnostics software systems is an advantage.
Responsibilities and role
• Repairing or replacing faulty parts and components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
• Conducting routine maintenance and servicing tasks, including oil changes, tyre rotations, and filter replacements.
• Performing four-wheel vehicle alignments and balancing wheels.
• Testing and adjusting vehicle systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
• Keeping accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• When necessary, communicating with customers to explain repairs.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working with hazardous materials, tools, and equipment.
• Staying up to date with the latest automotive technology and industry trends through ongoing training and professional development.
Required Skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow repair manuals and instructions accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
• Good communication skills to interact with customers and explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• You must ideally be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in light Vehicle Mechanical, Maintenance & Repair or equivalent. Or have at least 5 years on job experience.
• You will ideally have experience of working in a busy high-quality workshop environment.
• Maintain high standards of work and ensure all jobs are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment.
• Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with industry advancements and changes in automotive technology.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• To take an active part in upholding the companies Health & Safety policy.
